Bad Company 2 PC Woes

I'm just going to stop buying games. Loved BC2 in the beta and had zero issues. Game launches and I can't play it at all. Constantly loses connection to EA's servers, punkbuster kicking even though its fully updated, etc.

Any time it works long enough to get into a match, my progress doesn't get saved.

It's really getting tiresome. Everyone says how EA has come a long way, but I just am not seeing it. Horrible resolution support, and endless crashing, in NFS games, to these issues in BC2. I swore off EA back when Black&White had its problems. When the games work, they are fabulous. But waiting on EA for patches and such is like constantly waiting for a Christmas that never comes, and if it does, all the other kids get the goodies and your toy is still broken.

Anyone have these issues? I've tried all the fixes: from manually updating PB to forwarding all ports, and nothing.

Just so frustrating. I loved Mirror's Edge so I put my money on DICE, only to have EA make me wish I hadn't. Say what you want about MW2, hackers aside, at least the darn game is playable.

So far I have been problem free. I do get the occasional "Cannot connect or check your connection" when I try to join a server. Doesn't last for more then a few minutes though. If you haven't yet, delete all the BC2 Beta files, I read that may interfere with punkbuster.

Come to think of it I did have one problem yesterday. Whenver I started playing, the first server I would join would quit me to desktop. I restart the game and rejoin and it works perfectly fine. Happens with random server, so I dont know if it my game or EA. Hopefully they have a fix soon. Other than that, the game is definently a blast. Unfortunatley my 8800GT is starting to show some age

console FTW :) most of the time anyhow. apparently this game but fore sure gta4. i bought it full price for pc then after finding out how ****ty a job they did porting it finally broke down and got it for 360 for $25.

I just said screw it and started on the single player campaign. Maybe by the time I finish it they will have the issues worked out.

Man is the single player sweet though. They've come a long way with the environments and such since the first BC. The first couple levels have had more variety than the whole first game.

And the sound! It's not perfect, but far and away is better than any PC game I've played yet. I don't even have that good of a setup, but the sound engine definitely unleashed the power of what I had. Might hook this up to the 5.1 and play on the HDTV just to see how it plays there.

I won't spoil anything, but the first time I walked into a hanger and fired off a round -> Uugghgghghhhh (in a good way. Think Andy Samberg face, lol.).

Now if they can just get MP sorted, but by that time I'll be way behind. Oh well.

have you gotten to the point (think second or third level) where your on the back of the truck driving down the road?

that pissed the hell outta me. i would die randomly from bomb shells which is completed stupidness.

Ya, I went through that one. I didn't have any issues with randomly getting pegged though. Then again I was taking out everyone with my 'tube.

Anyone get to the part in the sand where there are the two helicopters? Your squad mates are supposed to cover you while you try to take 'em out (hint: don't rely on them, I died way too many times due to their incompetence).

i jumped on the tripod mounted rocket launcher and got one then died then came back and got both with about 10 rockets.

I got one of them with the guided rocket launcher (that's what it is), but so many times they'd miss (overshoot, most of the time, and then there was when the heli flies too close and is out of the angle range of it).

Well beat the sp campaign. Chopped a pci-e x16 down to an x1 and went all Softth on it. Works pretty well. Until I can get the other 22" up and running I have to use a 15" on the left side, and had to set funky resolutions, but once I got it up and going it was sweet.

Between levels, when saving, it goes all white screen and I have to quit and restart. But that's when it saves, so all is good. Pretty damn sweet.

Man, this is going to make me want eyefinity, and do this proper, hehe.

Put the game away for 2 weeks. Come back, get excited as it lets me play 2 matches. Start it up today and the same issue as last time. The same "We are aware of the issue" post still runs on start up.

No wonder people pirate. Why pay for a game you can't even play even if you do pay. Argh, lol.

The game seems hit or miss. I have had zero problems since release. Only thing I dont really like is how easy it is to unlock all the weapons for multiplayer. I had all of them by Rank 20.

I got a couple matches in last night. Just so very frustrating to drop $50 on a game only to not be able to play it. At least I am getting to be able to get a match or two in before it freaks. *crosses fingers*

When it works it's great. Well aside from 3/4 of the matches you play having 3/4 of both teams as snipers. Yes, I said snipers, as most don't know recon has any other weapon or item.

Makes it horribly frustrating when your in one of those games as nothing gets done except both sides sniping each other back and forth.

I main medic, though will pop into engi if I feel like fixing/blowing things up.
