Here are some pictures from the construction:

After the window, the door has been cut out. Next steps: Primer, sanding, primer, sanding, primer, sanding...

I did not like the bottom plate, that is why I made this cover. It is made of a CD-ROM-Board, a busted TFT-Inverter and a network adapter.

The lift raises the plasmaball only 2,5 cm or 1 inch, but it is better than nothing.

The underbody illumination with switchable lights.

Here you can see old paint. The pipes and the box have no function, are not mounted yet. Everything is just decoration!

The mess has to get cramed inside.

Videos (320x240 Pixels, DivX is mandatory)!
I told you, that the colours of the tower are switchable. Here is the proof:
The first test. (http://der-bruno.de/Brubcat/Videos/Probelauf.avi)

The aperture angle (hope the term is correct) of the door is freely adjustable (servo controlled).
The motorised door. (http://der-bruno.de/Brubcat/Videos/Tuerkl2.avi)

My little plasmaballlift.

If I had that case, I don't think I'd ever turn on my lights. I'd just sit there and stare at it. In fact, my generic case is looking horrible by comparison. I think I'll go lie down now. :(

But seriously, great job man. Keep it up.

Awesome! I love the changing light colours! The only thing I can think of is try to make the lift more stable so that it doesnt wobble when it goes up and down!
Peace

Many thanks for the compliments!

@ XcOM
The servo doesn`t stick. It depends how far the rotary knob gets turned.

Last week I smelled something, like burning electronics! Ähm ... yeah ... my servo controller has left earth, it ended up in smoke! Argh, I must build in a new one. But I will do that after my current project is finished. You will be the first ones, who will be informed!

Hello guys!

I haven't been lazy in the last 2 months and now I want to present my "new casemod". Well, it is a case, but it's called "desk"!
It has now lights inside like a refrigerator, a motorized drawer and door.

Here we go:

The light inside:

Scanner was out of order, now parts of it are pushing and/or pulling the drawer:

A detail-photograph from the servo, whitch opens the door:

This is controller box:

And here is the VIDEO (http://der-bruno.de/Desk/SchreibtischWeb.avi)!

Enjoy!

Little Update:

After the door servocontroller and the temperturesensor of the frontfan ended up in smoke, I changed the funktion of the left potentiometer. It controls the revs of the fan now.

@mods
This worklog is completed.
