I'm looking for a General Consensus about TBCS's favorite mods. If you could give me a name (and link!) to it and a short paragraph about why it is your favorite, it would be much appreciated. I hope to use this in my first article as a Journalist.

I'll Start:

Neptune's Trident (http://www.thebestcasescenario.com/forum/showthread.php?t=17307) by Boddaker is my favorite mod because of his attention to detail. The way he carries the theme of water and 3 throughout the mod is fascinating. Not to mention the amazing paint job that looks like water-droplets on the case.

Maybe a little longer then that, but you get the idea.

Thanks,
Trace

Cobramatic (http://www.thebestcasescenario.com/forum/showthread.php?t=10511) by Mach is at the top of my list. I love retro-mods and the detail and effort that went into this build are nothing short of amazing to me. Acid-etching, glow powder, awesome lighting, and all compact and neat and trim, too. The fact that he came back afterward and made matching speakers is icing on the cake.

Easily Cygnus X1 (http://forums.overclockers.com.au/showthread.php?t=714677). That mod takes the cake as far as perfection goes. It's beautiful and clean.

Also, the Edelweiss PC (http://www.million-dollar-pc.com/systems-2009/special/lessdegrees/pius-edelweiss.htm) is a looker as well. Really nice and gives the Thermaltake Level 10 a run for its money.

Sad that it took us to Page 2 to mention Doom 3 Project Mars City.

There's two other mods that really got my blood going: Tip 3K by our own DaveW and War Machine (http://www.xoxideforums.com/worklog-section/70481-project-war-machine.html) by kikbox.

Nobody's mentioned Dark Blade (http://forums.bit-tech.net/showthread.php?t=76374&pp=20). One of my favorites.

Doom 3 was definitely a "whoa!" moment for me. I was amazed, inspired, and surprised that I had never heard about case modding before. Once I started looking around, I stumbled to Mashie's mods which changed my opinion of what a computer is or could be. His Anemone (http://www.mashie.org/casemods/anemone1.html) mod really switched me on to found object modding.

While we are on the subject of modders, I love http://metku.net/. The mods are simple, but lay out DIY elements that could be combined into a bigger mod easily.

Metku was among the first mods I ever saw. :)

A few more that have come to mind:

The Interocitor (http://www.thebestcasescenario.com/forum/showthread.php?t=7987)

Mashie's Tranquility (http://mashie.org/casemods/tranquillity1.html)

The entire Defyant catalog.

There's one other one that I can't find. It was posted here, had a vampire theme to it--red coolant dripping down the side windows.

Battlestar Galactica is my favorite scifi - futuristic mod.:alien:
Cobramatic for a retro mod, and CoolIT is just plain... well, cool.

I've said it before and I will say it again, :D, The TIP-3000 (http://www.thebestcasescenario.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2351).

It was the mod that got me into modding.

The entire Defyant catalog.

I second that.
