I'm trying to figure out what to put down for "objective" in my resume for Panda Express. Anyone want to help me put something down that's actually worth reading?

Thanks!

Interesting.. I have never seen a Fast Food restaurant that accepted anything other then their application. But for something like that ...

To obtain a job in the restaurant industry. Ultimately to expand my skills in customer interaction and knowledge of business operations.

Something along those lines should be sufficient.

Good luck

That's awesome! Thanks!

Yea I think it's kinda weird too. I'm applying online, maybe that's why. Hmmm.

Well, next question! lol

I'm not sure what to put down for qualifications. I'm not sure if I even have any...

I'm also not sure what to put for education. In my foolish days of youth I dropped out in 11th grade and got my GED.

Then there is relevant experience, which again, I don't really have any.

Then of course there is other experience, but I don't know how to write that out.

Man, I learned all of this back in high school but I don't remember any of it. ><

For education, just put GED with the year you received it.

For the experience portion I would just put your occupational history with a brief description of what you did there, and your responsibilities.

There are multiple ways to put a resume together, so there is are plenty of ways to display yourself.

Thanks! I appreciate it. I'm just doing a really basic resume so hopefully it'll be adequate for them. I mean, no offense to Panda Express, but, I mean... It's Panda Express. Its not exactly Beverly's. (local world class restaurant)

It's pretty weird that it's also required to submit a resume, it's not even optional. I suppose it's a great way to filter out those people who are just kinda a waste of time, as applying online is pretty ridiculously easy. ...except Pizza Hut. They're online only now AND their application process takes 40 minutes minimum. There's over 200 questions AFTER the basic application/questions part! lol

I guess "entry" level is not so entry level anymore.

Anywho.. good luck!

Thanks! It's right down the road so great location. I added a special note stating that I'd work training without pay. We'll see if that was a good idea or not I guess.

EDIT: SORRY I DIDN"T REALIZE HOW OLD THIS THREAD WAS.

It actually really bothers me that corporations abuse online applicants in this way. Since they can automate their application systems to weed out the people they don't want and don't have to manually read every application they make them super long now. Its ridiculous. I don't want to spend four hours applying for a minimum wage job.

I know, i know, "show some initiative" and im sure to the corporation its more than "just a minimum wage job" but to me... its a minimum wage job that i don't want to be doing a year from now and weather or not your manager admits it... they know its true to.

I remember doing online application that were like hundreds of questions and turned in to miniature psychological eval's. Which means that i pretty much have to lie to get a job because if potential employers knew I was horribly depressed, paranoid, and crippled by social anxiety... well id never get a job. (ok a bit of an exaggeration, im really just not a people person.) But the point is most people lie anyway because the answers are easy to figure out and a lot of people probably wouldn't get a job if they didn't pretend like they were the model of mental/emotional stability.

Another pet peeve... Entry level, minimum wage jobs that expect you to list a long page of qualifications, work history, and/or work references. For half the people that apply this will probably be nothing but BS because theirs a good chance this is their first or second job.

Anyway, I understand why they do it... good workers are hard to come by. People come and go all the time at my work place.
