So I'm on my way back from getting my needs-new-paint-on-the-roof 10 year old Dodge Dakota back from being smog checked, and sitting across the intersection from me is a gorgeous cream/dark blue $1.6 mil Bugatti....and this is not the first but SECOND time I've seen one out on the road down here just north of LA. also passed a Ferrari Enzo once (going the other way that is) in Santa Monica, and ended up behind a $500k Porsche Carrera GT another time, being tailed by a cop, so I'm pretty sure that was a test drive...heck...a business owner in my office building has a Ford GT, and a guy in the next parking lot over has a Lamborghini Gallardo. It's like living on the same street as the car version of the Playboy mansion....and being a eunuch. LOL

I get that feeling every time I watch Top Gear... Awesome that you live in an area with so many though. At least you can look. :D

You guys are so lucky...

The coolest things ive seen around, actually driving on the street:
Think i caught a glimpse of a black NSX twice near the walmart i work at.
an R35 GTR being driven by an old lady shortly after they came out.(was very disapointed because i was hoping if i pulled up next to it whoever was drving would take off).
The ocasional random Ferrari. Don't know the models that well.

I think the GTRs are ugly as well, although I would still buy one. :D

There is a guy who works for a jewelry store that drives a yellow NSX that is just awesome. makes me drool every time! lol

I normally see a Ferrari once a week as a few people around where I live have them.

Top of the range BMW's, Mercedes, Audi's are common site along with Porsche's and no one bats an eye. There is a Mercedes dealership walking distance from me. A lot foreign and Australian celebrities live near me along with crazy rich people. I just drive a 9 year old Holden/Opal/Vaxhaull.

I see a bunch of nice BMWs and Mercs, though usually sedans...which might have something to do with most of the people that work around where I do being over 40... There are a fair number of Porsches though, that come out in the summer. And occasionally I'll see an AC Corba...either that or a Factory 5 Roadster, I haven't actually gotten close enough to the thing to check...only seen it from across the parking lot.

My wife worked for a web design company down here, and her boss owns a Lambo Murcielago. He took me for a ride one day, and we did a bunch of photos of it all over town.

I have to say, I dont think I'd spend that much money on one, but it was hella fun. Noisy, uncomfortable, and difficult to get in/out of. But FAST, and the looks we got were priceless. :D

Hahaha, yeah, the price is a bit of a problem. I would be much more likely to get (or better yet, build) something along the lines of the Ariel Atom. Crazy fast and fairly cheap.

Just remembered that I once passed what looked like a nice mercedes parked on the side of a 2-lane high-speed-limit street that runs past some homes in the $20-30 mil price range...when I got closer I was rather astonished to see that it was a Maybach. Who the heck parks a Maybach on the side of the road???? It wasn't even close to any driveways...weird.
i'd love to see a Factory Five GTM in person...if I had my first choice of car that'd be it. beautiful, super fast, and WAY cheaper than a ferrari or lambo. Not that i'd mind either one of those.
In all seriousness though, I suspect my "sports car" in this life will be a really nice grand piano someday. first choice if I had the $$ and space? $164,000 10-foot Fazioli concert grand. Heck, even their baby grands cost as much as a porsche. But from what I've heard, they're the best pianos in the world today. oh hey. if I could get a million people to give me a few pennies each...hmmm :D

Perhaps the same kind of person who owns a $20-30 million house?
