I've been looking up on it and so far all I can find are adapters where you need to plug a wired controller into them on top of using your mouse and keyboard and yada yada.

The XIM's are modded controllers and for whatever reason are 2-3x the cost of the adapters out there for sale. Is there a reason for this besides modders expecting to make a crazy profit for their time? Are they less buggy or something?
