Plastic texuring?

How are they doing this texturing? I was thinking tar/rhino liner but any other ideas?

Could be a gloss spray dipped in gritty material and then coated with an acrylic. I woulden't think the tar liner would be very pleasing to hold. Neat mods either way.

theres some texturized spray paint out there try wall mart and look for a rough cap

I've also seen and used textured spray paint.

I used a spray bed liner on mightyMite that might give a similar effect.
