The TBCS front page can be found at http://thebestcasescenario.com

I know a lot of people have the forums bookmarked including myself. The front page is full of awesome product reviews, member interviews, featured mods and even the occasional news leak about an up coming product. The staff here work hard 7 days a week to create content for the front page and we are curious as to how often you check the front page for the latest news, reviews and featured mods. This information will help us improve the site for everyone.

Please be honest in your answer.

If I get on the computer for more than 15 min. I check it out.

I said once a week, but that's an "at least" sort of position. I'll check it as often as I see an update in the forums and once a week otherwise.

I have the front page bookmarked so I go there directly then to the forums... so I put 6 days a week but sometimes its 7 :)

In my browser I type "th" and the homepage comes up as the number one suggestion. I then down arrow key once and hit enter. After I've looked at it I'll either open the forums in a new tab if there is a new story on the front page or just click on the forum link. Right now I'm on pretty much everyday, sometimes more than once, though my summer job will cut into that number significantly.

I choose never, my bookmarks take me to the forums, not the frontpage.
I visit the forums hourly on my cell (college= free time)

Once a week, at most. I just leave the forums open, and rarely go to the front page.

sorry about that, but I also have the forums bookmarked... I read the forum through though, so I get to read the stuff in the 'frontpage'-topic

what he said. I did put once a week, as I do occasionally think to take a look at the front page. :)

No offense intended but I rarely check the front page. My browsing is via bookmarks mostly targeted at worklogs and the modding question sub-forums. Some other forums have started approaching their front page as a blog. They put a sticky in the most trafficked sub forums saying that the blog has been updated which is updated with the new entries.

I am going to delete these last 2 comments and we can take it to PM. I do value your opinion but when all you have to say is "your reviews are un professional and they are not informative" with out citing examples I have no use for that opinion.

To view similar projects side by side? This site is about new shiny things but there is no web development. It's almost straight out the box vbulletin.

Here's one thing you're probably not aware of--not a single one of us is getting paid to do this. That said, there's a whole lot going on behind the scenes that you'll never see. Hell, I've never seen it either.

We tend to adhere to a 'if it ain't broke don't fix it' attitude when it comes to web dev based stuff. Yes, there's a lot that we don't like (having to use tables in HTML code rather than a CSS based approach for example), but it's working quite well.

And finally, to quote Paul Capello, if you don't like it, go start your own forum.

You should make it so if you try and go to http://thebestcasescenario.com/forum directly that it redirects to the front page.

Otherwise I would utilize the handy dandy space we got on both sides of vBulletin.

I check everyday. Mostly because I'm looking to see if anything I've written has been published there.

I was wondering, is it possible to have an RSS feed of new front page articles? ill second the front page links on the side bars... im on a 13 in laptop (1280x800) and have plenty of space to either side... unless other members are on netbooks, or something with a lower resolution then there shouldnt be a space issue... lol.... if its alot of work then pleas skip my second. lol

There is indeed an RSS feed for the frontpage articles. I use it on my GoogleIG page.

http://www.thebestcasescenario.com/frontpage/?q=node/feed

is the url for the feed.
