Long time no see all,

I find mixed feelings about all these tablet computers coming out. One has this feature that I would like, the other doesn't, but that other one has some feature I want also. I don't think anyone has nailed this tablet computer right.

What I want in a tablet computer:

dual-core processor
dedicated graphics processor
1-2gb of Sdram of some sort
60gb embedded SSD
sd Card reader
Bluetooth
Simcard capability
Wifi
Pixel QI screen (http://pixelqi.com/)
10+ hours of battery life
Windows/Ubuntu

*EDIT*
I would also like to see a camera on each side of the tablet
*End Edit*

What would you guys like to see? For me, these tablets right now are too underpar. The only one that comes to mind that I would think about purchasing is the Notion Ink Adam (http://www.notionink.in/).

Not gonna do what I want until they can develop a low power screen that can both display as e-ink or backlit.

The Notion Ink Adam already does that, check the link at the bottom of my first post.

I'd be content with our Eee 900, albeit with a larger hard drive (ours has the 4GB SSD), a much beefier battery (available), and obviously a touchscreen. It has an SDHC reader and a gig of RAM, but could use a slightly beefier processor than its 1.6 Atom (though I can forgive that for battery life). Ours lacks the necessary webcam as well, sadly.

A 9" (or preferably 10") convertible would be perfect for me, really.

Personally, it's more of a software issue than a hardware issue at this point, for me. Greg Dean (author of Real Life Comics (http://www.reallifecomics.com/)) summed it up pretty well here:

Ideal for me would be a 10-12" tablet, powered by the AMD Neo platform, with 10+ hours of battery life, and with software to truly integrate into my desktop environment. The software is the key, imo.

Think of it along these lines; when you're away from your home, the onboard CPU handles all the processing work, but when you are connected to your home wifi network, all the work gets offloaded onto your desktop. Of course, ideally I would want the same thing to happen with my desktop, where it would offload everything to a server. I could do it pretty easily with everything except for graphics stuff... If only I weren't into gaming at all, I would be set. :P

A keyboard. Wait that defeats the purpose of a tablet, I'll be sticking with my high powered netbook.

I'm with the Star Trek Padd idea. That's been my benchmark all along.

Ultra thin and light, touchscreen, built in mic/cam/speaker, all day battery life (10-12 hrs), induction charging, wifi/bluetooth, card slot, the end.

That's it! I dont think that's too hard to explain OR DESIGN, really.. If I could get it simply to be a wireless interface device for my home system, I'd be golden. Wireless USB for the onboard devices, wireless video transmission for the screen, and a lightweight but high capacity battery that could be charged by simply setting it on a desk or table with an induction charging system built in (so no cables to plug in or ports to break).

So NO, this wouldnt be a good option for people who need to use this device away from their homes, or out of their wifi range, but around the home/office, it would be AWESOME. Throw in that e-ink switchable screen with daylight readability, and you have a winner as far as I'm concerned.

Without an onboard cpu/gpu/storage, you cut your power needs (and weight) dramatically.
