office equipment

i don't know if i'm posting in the right place i haven't used this forum before...i have just set up my own office but i need some decent office equipment... like filing cabnets, office storage cupboards etc...i don't know where to get it from... it might sound like a stupid question but i've heard of people getting equipment which has broken nearly as soon as it's been bought so i was just wondering if anyone new where i could purchase equipment from?

You didn't mention whether you were looking for new, snazzy stuff or used sturdy items, but if it is the latter I would suggest checking if a local university has a surplus department. I work near University of California, Davis and their "Bargain Barn (http://bargainbarn.ucdavis.edu/)" always has good quality, industrial strength furniture for pennies on the dollar.
