Hi

Any advise on this would be appreciated.

I bought a retracting car tv screen. I thoughtit would be the perfect mod.
Very simular to the below link minus the radio.

http://www.made-in-china.com/showroom/joannayufe/product-detailKTrExbQVjJfo/China-Car-DVD-Player-with-7-Inch-TFT-LCD-Screen-With-TV-FM-Radio-SFCD-C01-.html

All I get is a pink screen.

I've had no problem connecting to my computer with a bit of rewiring the
power cables and putting a molex connector on.

I bought a manhattan pc tv converter.

I have a Sapphire radeon 5750 card.

It comes up as a generic non-pnp monitor driver.

I have tried all the screen resolution that are available.

640x480 is the lowest I can go with 60hz refresh.

Anyone tried anything simular?

I even bought an angle grinder and cut up my case for it to fit in the 5 1/4 bay...

Thanks for any response!

Have you tried making a custom resolution that matches the screen and its timings?

That would be what I would try. Without the exact specifications of the screen I don't know what else we could recommend other than checking the cables, and making sure the screen is compatible with the output of the video card. Try hooking your computer up to another display through that box, like the inputs on your television, or your monitor if it has svideo/composite. That way you can narrow down the possibilities. The video card might not like that converter. The screen might be borked.

Try hooking the screen up to another input source, like a playstation or something.

If you can get the screen working with something else, and the converter to work with a different display, then it would just be a matter of testing compatibility between the video card, converter, and that particular display, and should just be a resolution/timings issue.

Since that screen accepts multi region inputs, make sure it's set to NTSC, rather than PAL or SECAM. There should be menus and such to make the changes on the device.

which brings me to my next question..

Do you get anything on the screen? Menus, logos, anything? Everything but Windows?

Yes I have plugged a DVD player into the 7" tft car monitor and it works fine.
The inbuilt menu system comes up and the TV converter menu system comes up too.

I've tried Powerstrip to create a custom resolution but it doesn't seem to work with Windows7. The "Advanced Timing Options " is greyed out.

I suspect I have to go lower than the 640x480 res - but not sure how.

It's 16:9, probably won't accept 640*480 (4:3)?

Try 800x480, or 720x480
