that's it...? you don't give us any other info other then that?...what about price, current setup, what case is it and how big can you go, you want a H/F unit or watercooling or phase changing...what are you looking for no one can jsut tell you a straight answer of what the best heat sink is...it all depends on everything that you didn't tell us

Thermaltake Golden Orb 2 kicks ass mate and it only const $69 AUS.

for hardcore cooling, stay away from the Tt orbs and Zalman Flowers. head over to the Cooler Master Hyper series, or something like that, for real hardcore cooling.

or you could get phase change/WC/Peltier, although those are expensive.

check out the Thermaltake big typhoon, it runs for about 50$ and is awesome.

thermaltake armour series case
2 icage hard drive bays, both with 120mm aerocool turbine fans on them
Enermax noistaker 600W PSU
ASUS A8N SLI32 DLX with 2gig of corsair
BFG GeForce 7800 gt oc
sound blaster audigy 4
2X 120mm exhaust fans (one at top, one at back) and 1X90mm exhaus at back
thats about it...size really doesnt matter seeing as how my case is like another room...would like a heatsink w/fan, although i might consider watercooling....but would rather not.

thanks!

got with the water cooling, otherwise i would recomend the gigabyte g-power pro i have it and it is very nice(funny thing is, is that it works best at the lowest fan speed) and very silent.

Just go for sumthing that u like and does the job. It's really just your choice.

if i was u i would get a water cooling kit, though they cost alot more they will guarantee the coolness of the cpu round the clock and they keep it at a constant temperature.

Although if that is out of ur price range make sure u get a fairly decent heatsink and quite a few fans inside inc intake/outtake for airflow or the heatsink will just keep re-using the same hot air and therefore make the cpu hotter and angier, lol.

^^^ air keeps it at a contant temperature and guarantees to keep your cpu cool, if it didnt there wouldnt be any air cooling. Water cooling is for overclockers or people who want an extremely quiet pc.

i think the thermaltake high riser 01 is the best with a scythe flex cooler

ok then. if it is 38 degrees C at your house and you were trying too play BF2 or anything similar on quite high settings ur cpu will get much much hotter than if you have a water cooling kit.

yea, but its still stable and everything will run fine. i got a pressy on air that runs at a constant 42 on the lowest setting. Water wil kep it even cooler but it will still fluctuate. What i am saying is that water cooling is pointless unless for the above said reasons.
