My dad called me up yesterday letting me know he talked to his boss and his boss suggested I "put in an application tomorrow morning."

While filling out the application it asked for my DL# and expiration and it was then when I realized it expired last month on my 21st birthday! I'd be starting out at around $30/h! God I hope I don't miss out on this job.

I called the DMV and I guess it's 31 dollars for a renewal and they're backed up about a month for appointments so I get to go wait in a line for 3-4 hours tomorrow morning. I'd do it today but I have 28 dollars in the bank. I noticed my car payment still hadn't been automatically paid a few days ago so I called and paid over the phone. Yesterday they finally decided to send out the automatic payment (was due on the 14th...) so I double-paid setting me back an extra 200 dollars I didn't plan for.

Thankfully my girlfriend still owes me $350 out of the $650 dollars she spent with my card while I was at bootcamp so I'll have 100 of that later today. It's only 10am and I'm already stressed out.

Oh ya, cellphone bill is also due in 3 days. Netflix tomorrow and I have a quarter tank left of gas. I'm also on my last set of contacts and my only pair of glasses are my BCG's!

Awesome.

Doh! Hopefully the company won't try to validate your license before you get it renewed. Good luck with the DMV; I had to get my license renewed last year, and other than waiting in line for entirely too long, it was actually a pretty quick and painless experience.

When it rains it pours....

I did the same thing with my DL. I only found out when I went to the bank to deposit some checks and they wouldn't let me deposit them since my license was expired. No valid ID, no transaction. I also recently found out my passport expired a couple of weeks ago. That one is easy though since I can mail in all the forms and pictures.

I made an appointment and it still took me 2 hours of waiting in line. I recently had to replace my motorcycle plate (some a$$hat stole it), and I went to a different DMV office and including the 20 minute drive each way, it only took 45 minutes... No appointment.

One nice thing about living in Idaho? no lines at the DMV. takes me ~10 minutes to do just about anything. :D

UK Licences are good for a decade at a time - and then it's just a matter of mailing in a couple of photographs :D

AMEN! My motorcycle permit expired and I went in to get it replaced. No line whatsoever. I gave her my old one, she copied the information while I left to go to a cash machine to pay her. I came back and took a picture. Nobody else had been there in all that time. Picture taken, permit printed. It was 10 min start to finish.

In Michigan, they usually allow online renewals, but that doesn't work so well if you need it yesterday. I'd imagine that it's the same in most other states.

In Maryland they're just starting to introduce a mail-in renewal program...honestly, it's faster to just go in.

I could have done an online or mail-in renewal but my address has changed. I kinda sorta never updated it.

What about license plate tab or watercraft registration renewals? Michigan has an automatic option, a mail-in option, an online option, and a walk-in option. They even have a self-serve computer in the SOS offices to do driver's licenses, etc.

When I do have to go to wait in line for something (every time so far), line is usually very long and takes FOREVER. At least they have chairs and a take a number type thing.

That we do have. They send a notice in the mail that the registration is going to expire within the next two or three months, and then you can either go in person, mail in the renewal, or renew online.

Getting back on topic (idk if I was off-topic), good luck and I hope you get the job.

I'm in a similar boat. Looking for work, almost had a for sure thing but got rejected for something small and stupid so there goes my hopes and dreams of actually making like $1200+ a month starting out, I have $1400 of medical debt due to a simple matter of having too much caffiene in my system causing my heart to go through fluttery feelings, moved out into an actual house which is bring up much larger bills, I had the chance to make a bit of money helping my uncle on a house project, but then turned out there was nothing really for me to do so nothing came of it...

Well, at least the new place has a cool little mini-bar down in "the man cave". lol

When it rains, it pours. That which can happen, will happen. So on and so forth. It's times like these that you go pick up posters of kittens falling to their doom with cute sayings like "hang in there". lol
