you said the glass needs to be replaced but i see that it is fine

The glass does need to be replaced. It's not cracked, but the paper ribbon cable connecting it to the motherboard has been ripped off. Hint why the mid-frame is rather important unless you have a case that'll hold the screen in place. lol (without the mid-frame, the glass isn't held in place and so can be removed without any difficulty. So, when the glass falls out, it pulls on the connection cable and voila, now its useless.)

Update: You'll have to purchase your own charging/data cable. I'll include one of my old ones that I.. er... "modified" with colored string and hardening solution... lol It still works, but its kinda funny looking. :p
