Yesterday after doing some fiddling in my case evidently I loosened the power to the fans on my video card cooler. I keep Everest running at all times so my temps are visible in the taskbar. I walked away, came back a few minutes later and the video temp was 103.

I shut it down and fixed the problem, no evident ill effects, but I pulled the cooler off today to reinstall it with a copper spacer plate, as I've never been happy with the fit, and this is what I found on the contact area:

It won't come off with Arcticlean or Alcohol, seems to be there forever.

Anyone seen transfer like this?

I've seen things like that happen before, I wouldn't be worried about it honestly

Not worried about it really, it seemed odd. I have to assume it's a thermal transfer of some kind, but the transfer looks like copper, and the cooler has a plated copper base. Almost like the plating got burned through. Interesting.
