I forgot to grab pictures so I will have to do my best to describe them.
We started our full top to bottom scrub everything cleaning and when we opened her camera pouch to get the camera there were little larvae/beetles in the pouch and inside the tiny digital camera itself.
The larvae looking things were maybe a mm or two, pretty much the same for the tiny brown beetle looking things. I keep thinking roach, but these things are literally only 2mm long by 1mm wide.
They had started to spread into a few things on the shelf nearby. We cleaned and killed what we had found, and as we go through the apartment will continue to look. She had used the camera recently, so this happened quickly. I had to take the entire camera apart as they were inside it somehow.
We've seen a couple little bugs in the apartment over the years, but not many. We keep the place pretty damn clean for college students with a lot of stuff crammed into a small space. Everyone around us are foreign people who don't speak English, so I can't attest to how clean they are.
Any ideas? I will try and get a picture if I can find another one. I can't figure out what the hell they are. We live near Boston, MA for location in case that helps narrow things down.

might be roaches dude.. u live in an apt building? i would seriously check this out... those lil buggers spread quick...
keep a dead one... and bring it to a pest specialist... if it is a roach... get a quote... and bring the bill to your building manager... i dont know about stateside.. but here... they HAVE to cough up the money... unsafe living conditions.. usually tho.. they will have their own solution contracted to your building manager company

what he said. the landlord should absolutely pay for a pest control guy to come out and determine if there's a bigger problem, and if so to do some spraying. Man...bugs in the camera....yuck! don't envy you that one...

More likely than not, they are just dust mites. You can keep them off book shelves and easy-to-clean places...but there are tens-of-thousands living in your carpet, bed mattress, and pillows. They feast on our dead skin cells that are constantly being sloughed off naturally. As disgusting as this sounds, it's pretty typical and there's really not a whole lot you can do about it unless you convert your entire apartment to an air-locked clean-room.
Do take pics if you find more though.

I got through cleaning the bathroom and didn't find any in there. Top to bottom cleaning. Ripped everything out and scrubbed it all down with cleaner.
In the camera there were probably 15 white larvae looking shells, a couple tiny white almost inch-wormy looking things no bigger than 1.5mm, and 3 redish-brownish beetle looking things with 6 legs and almost wing looking. Hard to tell when they weren't any bigger than 2mm.
I will see if I find any more when I go through the kitchen. She carpet cleaned the main hallway/dining area and didn't find any more. None in the bucket of liquid either.
One time two years ago during a wicked hot summer we found some tiny similar bugs in the pantry in a pancake box that had been left open, but after getting rid of it and cleaning everything (which we didn't find any more) they were gone.
To be honest the only place I've ever seen any other tiny bugs is on the sides of the apartment attached to other unit.
Also, we are talking a very small amount. One here, two there, randomly. This was the first occurrence where there was a bit more, and they were localized. Will talk to the manager if I find more.
EDIT: Also, the bug catcher things they put in the apartment every year that are supposed to attract them, and lets them know if there is an issue when they replace them are completely clear. Nothing on them.

Hmmm... On researching I was led to beetle larvae. They didn't look anything like roach larvae/young.
Then I found two tiny little things under neath the litter box that I just changed. So I looked up that. Turns out the litter we use can be common for grain beetles as it is organic matter type of litter, and we buy big bags of it, and they often have little holes in the bag from the store.
How they got in the camera bag I have no clue, but they look just like the ones I saw on the web, and are exactly the right size and color.
Edit: Just found quite a few at the bottom of a dish of walnuts that was right beside the camera bag. I didn't think anything of leaving them there beside the dish of candy for the ~2 months they have been there. That would explain how they got in the camera, as she puts her camera beside those two dishes.
Looks like the litter has to be put into an airtight tub instead of just rolling up the bag. That way if they do come from the litter then they will be contained for the most part.
