TBCS has Intel's latest and greatest desktop chip the 980x. While we're putting it through it's paces, we decided to have a little competition with bittech (however they don't know about it! Shhh!). We're trying to beat their max overclock of 4.72ghz. Currently we have achieved 4.41 (imaged) and 4.5 (no image right now).

Wish us luck, give us advice, or just enjoy the show!

I'll CPUz it, even if it isn't stable

This is a special chip that had the magic smoke removed!

Oh, This is currently cooled by my watercooling system. I plan on slushboxing it after the review is done.

I thought the extreme editions weren't supposed to have any magic smoke clouding up their potential. I thought that's why they were so 'extreme'...

Oh, and forget 5.0...I wanna see 6.0! Make it happen!

when in doubt, add a refrigeration unit.

You need some major cooling!

I've got him handled for that.

He's got one of my old 3x120s, stripped of paint and polished (this will be important in a bit) and I'm gonna set him up with one of my indestructible reservoirs, as well as my new watercooling fluid-safe to -60C, safe with mixed metals, nothing can or will grow in it, and yet still dyeable. Eats acrylic, though. Hence the res.

This overclocking effort is now sponsored by FlameProof Designs. Can't wait till we break 5.

Thanks Kayin, Can't wait to get this stuff, put it to use, and have you assist in breaking the 5Ghz Barrier!

You have intrigued me, good sir. What is this fluid you speak of?

A proprietary, custom blend specially built for my application.

Those are usually the best kind! This is starting to sound more and more hard-core. I like it!:D
