View Full Version : Microcenter clearance. 90% off bitspower fittings!
Ok, so here I was just kinda wandering around Micro Center today, wondering where the awesome clearance shelf of awesomeness went, when I turned the corner, and there it was, hiding around the side of the store! (it's usually in a main isle outside the DIY section) So, I started looking at stuff..not a whole lot here, eh, oh well, it was worth looking, right? ...then I saw it...a little sign sitting on the shelf... "90% off all clearance items". ...and then I saw the giant box of bitspower fittings on the bottom shelf.
I proceeded to go nuts. :D
Unfortunately, I discovered this at 8:58...and they close at 9.. :( Needless to say I'm gonna be heading back over there tomorrow after work. :D
So, anyone have any fittings they want me to look for? I'm sorely tempted to just buy the whole box, but I'm note sure how I feel about dropping $50+ on fittings...hmmm, maybe I'll just count them, then see how much it'll actually be... after all, how often do you get an opportunity like this?
Also, if anyone is interested in a slightly scratched Thermaltake V9 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811133071&cm_re=thermaltake_v9-_-11-133-071-_-Product) with the side window, and missing the back side panel, let me know. I'm trying to decide if I want to drop $7 bucks on it...ok, that sounded a lot less silly in my head. :P
I did grab a couple things before I left though, a 6' DB9 extension cable for 60 cents, and a CM Hyper 101A (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103075&cm_re=hyper_101-_-35-103-075-_-Product) for $1.20. :D
Incidentally, there were several other new cases on clearance.....oh holy crap, I just realized something... ...I'm gonna have to check with an employee tomorrow and see if that 90% off applies to them as well... I'm assuming not (they were all $200+ cases even after the normal clearance discount), but it's worth a try.

what do you mean by "missing back side panel"? if its nothing major I'll take it for $7!! plus whatever it costs to have you ship it to me lol

God i hate to say this... i dont get paid till the end of the week... so if you dont want to thats cool, but if you can get some bitspower compression fittings, in either 1/2 (pref) or 3/8(meh) or 1/4 (ill get back to you, these are for my roommates xbox mod) but if you can get 10 of the same, compression fittings hook me up, otherwise if you can get a clearance fillport i would take one of those too, just let me know, i just cant spend any $$ till my paycheck comes :D
EDIT: Roommate says yes to 4 1/4 in fittings if you can find them :D thank you so much if you are able to do it, also a Y or T junction if there is a cheap one to be found. PM me for details

I'd like some 1/2" compressions too. If you get me 10, I got cash to cover them and some for your time!
Buy the whole box. Whatever is left over, I'll buy.

I second Machs. I just need 6 3/8" compressions lol. But everyone else take a stab at them before me. I can always see if they will sponsor my build with some.
Hahaha, sounds good. I'll just grab the whole thing then...if I'd really thought it through I would have done that tonight. :P
SXR, what I meant was..actually I'm not sure exactly it's name....there's the panel with the window that you look through and see components/etc. Then, there's the other side panel, that covers up..the back...that's the side...the other side..bah! Idk, anyways, it's missing one of the side panels. So, I normally don't go in to work till fairly late on Tuesdays anyways, I'm thinking I'll just head over there in the morning.
looking at the website for your local store, there is a feser monsta 360/420 rad for 140 dollars. 90% off is 14$. If that is there, I will reward you what you deem fair. I love you. :whistler:

Heheh, trust me, I would have grabbed that in a heartbeat if it were there. Unfortunately, it's only stuff that's already on clearance...and it might just be the stuff on the shelf. I'm heading over there after work today, so I'll find out then. I'm really hoping it applies to all clearance items, because if it does I'll have some very nice, very discounted cases for sale soon.

Hey x88x if they have the bitspower temp plugs on the 90% off I will take one or 2.
Ah, I forgot till just now... They also have a metric crapton of 80mm Bitspower UV fan grills (http://www.bitspower.com/p-bbbbb5.htm), of the soldier, unreal tournament, biohazard, and radioactive designs, some 80mm-to-60mm and 120mm-to-92/80mm adapters, PSU silencers (the little silicone square thingies), wire wraps of various colors in iirc 2 or 3 foot sections (not sleeving, the coil wrap stuff), some different colored molex plugs, and some sleeving kits, all bitspower, all for $2 each (not on clearance, just on sale). I get the uncomfortable feeling that they're trying to get rid of a lot of their bitspower stock...which is sad, but not too surprising because all the sales associates were always so surprised whenever I would actually buy stuff like that...or watercooling parts...though their watercooling selection seems to be getting better recently overall, so hopefully they're just getting rid of the stuff that wouldn't sell?

if they've got black sleeving kits I'll take 2 please!!!!
Any color preference? I know I saw a red one, idk about any other, I had decided I didn't want anything in the bin by then.

nah I'm going to need black for when I get my tempest case. If they have black or a dark silver or something that will work. If not no worries, I'll order smoe up from performance-pcs. thanks!

seconded for sleeving, would take black dark grey or a blue that isn't hideous...
Well, the cases weren't 90% off. :(
Oh well, I made off with plenty of other stuff.

Including three Li-Ion batteries which should be useful for some projects I have planned:
10.8V 3.6Ah : $11.20 (normally $159.99)
3.6V 750mAh : $0.70 (normally $19.99)
3.7V 1Ah : $2.30 (normally $38.99)

And of course, the box :D

I'll post a listing of the fittings in a bit, but in the mean time, here's a few shots of the cases on sale, if anyone's interested:

I see you found some non nasty colored sleeving kits! Thanks!
Were any of the fittings the temp sensor ones?
Nope, sorry.
I see you found some non nasty colored sleeving kits! Thanks!
Yup, I found 6 blue kits in the $2 bin, though one is missing the zip-ties. There were a lot of red and yellow ones too, but nobody said they would be interested in those, so in the bin they stay. :P
I also grabbed two 10-packs of Bitspower brass thumbscrews.
Now, let's see here, I got an L and a cross ('Q') junction from the $2 bin, and the following in the box:
G1/8 Silver Shining G1/8 to IG1/4 : 25
G1/4 Crystal Lighting Stop Fitting : 23
G1/4 Silver Shining Stop Fitting : 20
G1/4 Silver Shining CaseTop Water-Fill : 5
G1/4 Silver Shining Dual G1/4 Fitting (M-M) : 25
G1/4 Silver Shining Multi-Transfer Adapter (F-F) : 24
G1/4 Silver Shining ST Transfer Adapter : 25
G1/4 Silver Shining Compression for ID 1/2" OD 5/8" : 2
G1/4 Silver Shining Compression Fitting 10/8mm : 24
G1/4 Silver Shining Stubby 3/8" Fitting : 24
G1/4 Silver Shining Stubby 1/2" Fitting : 25
G1/4 Silver Shining Fitting Spacer : 25
G1/4 Black Sparkle 1/2" Fitting : 19
G1/4 Black Sparkle 3/8" Fitting : 3
G3/8 Silver Shining 1/2" Fitting : 22
G3/8 Silver Shining 3/8" Fitting : 25
G1/2 Silver Shining IG1/2" to IG1/4" Adapter : 26
I love the 'Total Savings' values on these receipts. :D $1,151.04 of merchandise (after initial clearance discounts) for $116.15 (plus tax).
Fun fact: Apparently Microcenter's cash registers can only deal with a certain number of items...and none of the cashiers knew what it was..so we got to find out by overloading one..twice! From the moment I pulled my cart up to the cash register to the moment I walked out of the store was 1 hour and 9 minutes.

Not really anything. It's kinda sorta close to 3/16" ID, 25/64" OD. Really though, you're better off getting 10/8mm tubing.
Ok, now for selling off parts.
Before I promise any of these fittings to anyone, I'll be keeping one fillport, one silver stop, and 7x 10/8mm compression fittings for Faust.
I'll PM those of you who have mentioned particular items with prices.
Oneslowz, you need to clean out your PM box. I can't send you anything. Fittings are reserved for you though. ;)
Now, for the rest of everything, here are the prices I've decided on (per piece, before shipping) and how many are left:

I'm not sure what all the labels are, but do you have 6-10 1/2" compressions? Also, any fillports?
I didn't think to take any shots of the thumbscrews, so I'll get that tonight when I get home.
@Trace, sorry, all the compression fittings and fillports are gone now. I only had 2 1/2" compression fittings anyway.
Any more discussion on this, please move over to this thread:

SXRguy, incase you're following this thread and not the new one, I posted a shot of the thumbscrews.
 Ok...I think...wow...umm, I just realized the Microcenter website has an 'in-store clearance deals' link. ...and they always seem to keep their online stuff more up to date and organized than their in-store stuff. Also, you can order stuff online to pick up in-store, including in-store clearance items.
...soooo.....I've got a few more items that people might be interested in. And before anyone freaks out about the tubing, IT WAS 1 CENT PER FOOT! What was I supposed to do? Leave it? ..right then..
DD Tygon 3603 1/2" ID 3/4" OD : 232 feet ...yes, 232...yes, I may have bought out all their remaining inventory...no, I don't feel bad about that... :whistler:
P-PC's PVC 3/4" ID PVC Grommet : 100
AC Ryan HeatShrinkz 3/4" UV Red heatshrink tubing : 50 feet ..yeah, so I bought out all their remaining inventory of this too...it was also 1 cent per foot...bite me :P
AC Ryan ATX/P4/PCIe Female pins, gold-plated : 100
AC Ryan AUX Female pins, gold-plated : 100 (they have another ~1800 or so of these if anyone needs a LOT...and at 2 cents each, if you even think you might need them..you need them... come to think of it, that attitude has gotten me into a lot of trouble... :whistler: )
Unfortunately, I won't be getting over to the store to pick stuff up until Saturday, because I have to work a long day to..hmm..today...crap. I'll also be checking their clearance rack, of course, but I'm gonna guess that I pretty much cleaned them out with this online order. :whistler:
SXRguyinMA
05-14-2010, 08:13 AM
are they just pins or connectors too?
the AUX pins...are those the same ones used in 3-pin fan headers? the look it but it doesn't say! if so get me a bunch please!
also can you get me like 5 or 6 of the 3-pin fan y-splitters please? thanks!
From the looks of them, I think they're just the pins, and yeah, it looks like they're the ones out of a 3-pin fan header (for clarification, the part connected to the fan, not the part that one plugs in to). How many is 'a bunch'? They're 2 cents each, and they have 1853 left. :P Also, I'm not seeing the 3-pin y-splitters..link? (Make sure you're ont eh right location, MD - Beltway/Rockville)
So, bad news. :( I don't know if there was an error in the site or what, but I got the 'order is ready to pick up' email, and a bunch of the stuff that I ordered is apparently unavailable. Most notably, they only let me buy 12 feet of the Tygon and 8 of the grommets. ...and now those items aren't on the website anymore.. :( Oh well, I'll ask them about that when I go to pick stuff up tomorrow. Still for the heatshrink though! :P
There is some PrimoFlex 1/2"ID 3/4"OD tubing (http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0252597) for 22 cents per foot (19 feet available), and some P-PCs Flexible Slotted Grommet Edging Black 1/8" (http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0259845) for 20 cents per foot (69 feet available), if anyone's interested.

I'll take 10 feet of the p-pcs grommet edging!
and these are the cables:
http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0319758
they're not on sale, I just need 3 of them (if you don't mind of course) :D

05-14-2010, 02:10 PM
could you add 20 ft of tygon to my order preashe? since you paid .01 a foot ill give you .10 a foot, making it an even $2
edit: whoops! didnt read the 2nd post
Ok, so from this and some PMs, I'm picking up all of the 1/2-3/4 PrimoFlex and 10 feet of the grommet lining (I can pick up more tomorrow, but that's all I'm gonna reserve since I know I'll never use it and that's all that anyone requested). For anyone interested, check out this page:
http://www.microcenter.com/search/search_results.phtml?sortby=pricelow&Ntt=&Ntk=&Ntx=&N=4294966998%2B4294961489&sht=Any&prt=NewProduct&web_group=
They have a few more types of tubing, both liquid and heatshrink, though none at quite as good prices as these so far (next cheapest is 51 cents per foot), so I won't pick those up unless I have a request.
Ok, I'm pretty much braindead right now, so I'm gonna head over to Microcenter now instead of tomorrow. You've got a little over an hour to get your orders in. ;)

I'll take 100 of those pins please! and the molding trim and also 4 of the 3-pin y-splitters if you happen to come across them!
Well, I didn't see that until after I left the store...and they closed...I keep doing that. :whistler: But you're in luck! I happened to get 100 of the pins anyways. For the molding, I assume you meant the same 10', not all of it? For the y-splitters, for some reason I saw your original request as for 3, so that's what I had them get..they only had 4 in the store at all.. So, I only have 3 of those.
I also got a lot of other stuff, and...something I probably shouldn't have... :whistler: But that will wait until after I eat my dinner.
Ok, I'm actually pretty happy right now that I didn't get all 232 feet of the Tygon. As it turns out it's not 1/4" tubing like the description said... it's 1/16"! ...Seriously, who thought that would be a good idea? Maybe it works better with fluid in it, but empty it kinks when I bend it more than ~10 degrees!
Anyways, I promised evidence of my poor judgement. :P
Now, personally I blame mofo for bringing it to my attention...yeah, sure... :whistler: It wasn't on clearance, but it was 46% off. I trust we all know what this is?

Ok, as for other stuff, I got a nice little knife set (think xacto but not quite as good quality) for $1.27 :D Not for sale, but it'll come in handy. Now, for stuff that's actually for sale:
8 : 3/4" ID rubber gaskets : $0.50 each

EDIT:
I forgot this one.
I've also got this little guy (http://www.supermicro.com/products/accessories/mobilerack/CSE-M14.cfm). I picked it up to try and figure out how to get SATA activity lights, but hey, what do you know, this one doesn't have activity lights.
The latches are broken, but it looks like otherwise it's fully functional. $15 takes it.
http://imgboot.com/images/x88x/drivebaymedium.jpg (http://www.imgboot.com/image.php?u=x88x&i=drivebaymedium.jpg)
So, I've been tearing apart the TT V9 that I got in the first batch, and....wow. It has been a long time since I worked on this cheap feeling a case. There is no way on earth I would spend $115 on something like this. Heck, I wouldn't even spend $50 on something this cheaply made. Thin metal, sharp edges, cheap plastic...the whole thing just feels flimsy. I am going to be using the big 230mm fan and the plexi from the window in Faust, so I think that alone is worth the $8 I paid for the case, plus I got two decent feeling 120mm fans, so I think I got my money's worth...just not in the case itself....

Too bad you didn't catch me yesterday before I went over there. I can look next time I'm there, but no guarantees when that will be. It's a ~40-60 minute drive, so unless there's something I need or I happen to be in the area anyways, I'm not gonna be going there soon.
