BFBC2 Woes

The number of team killing trolls is growing. What drives these players to come into a game with the sole intent to team kill, get kicked after ~5-10 team kills then come right back in to continue on their quest to be the biggest douche bags on XBL?

It's really starting to piss me off. :mad:

I used to get drunk and start team killing on Halo 3 for fun... but only when I was in a group with my friends. lol as for just getting on to get kicked off... sounds like some douchebaggery is going on.

Seriously, play on a PC. Then you can play on clan servers where they ban people for that stuff.

I have been playing on the PC for a month or so, and I can't recall being TKed ever, unless you count the guy that couldn't fly a chopper and put us into a building :/

The mentality of those TKer's escapes me.

the worst part is when you know they are going to TK and its a kill or be killed situation, and you know if you dont shoot them first you are going to die...

Sometimes I've somewhat brought it upon myself by TKing someone for intentionally (either that or theyre just stupid as hell) giving away my sniping position by coming right up to me and shooting across the map with an RPG or dumping belt after belt with their LMG at random things. Or they'll just come snipe 3" away from me which also pisses me off and results in them getting shot by me. Seriously ass, find your own spot. lol


But besides that, there have been many more "for no apparently reason" tkers.

one more reason I like MW2 - no TKing going on. And in the hardcore matches, if you try to TK you die instead. downside is when you have martyrdom on (drops a grenade when you die) and a teammate is there...and as soon as you respawn you die for trying to TK lmao

I play HCTD all the time, as well as HCHQpro and such. if you try to kill a teammate it hurts you instead lol

The problem with TK's in both games is that the deaths count against you. If it wasn't for the deaths counting against your K/D, it would be annoying but not so bad.

you can tk in bfbc2? i've accidently shot (when i started i couldn't tell the people apart, still have a bit of trouble in dark maps) and never had an issues. i've shot tank rounds at people, mortar strikes all kinds of stuff.

the only tk type of thing i've seen and cannot confirm is someone got in a tank and was shooting a mcom station and i think blew it up.

It all depends on the server has Friendly Fire on in the options. When the map starts it will show you what is enabled, if you see a 0 next to the friendly fire box.. it is not enabled. If there is a 1 then check your fire.

He's playing on XBL. FF only counts in hardcore, which is an option in the first menu you come to, after you hit quick match.

Once you play a few games in hardcore, you likely won't ever go back to regular. I won't ever play regular again, one shot with a sniper rifle is really one shot, instead of having to take 2.

yea the hardcore games are way more fun. especially in MW2 with the limited HUD (no radar except when UAV is called in), nothing showing how much ammo you have, etc

I liked everything about the hardcore mode except anything red dot having no sight. Makes some guns entirely useless. They may have changed that since I last played HC though.

I understand the removing the helping things, and electronics, etc. But removing the dot from a red dot scope is like grinding off the iron sites on a standard issue. It gets worse when some of the guns come standard with red dot.

It actually wasn't a huge deal, but at the time I tried it my go-to medic gun just so happened to come standard issue with red dot.

on a side note - after a slew of playlist updates recently for MW2, in HC matches there IS TKing now. The first 2 times you get no penalty, then each time there after you die and the time you're out goes up in increments the more you do it. Foudn that out from a game I was in that had a hacker, and everyone started TKing him till he left lol. you still get points for the kill as wel. Also, depending on the game/circumstances, you can get negative XP now in HC matches

lol maybe. I saw one guy who was 0-8 and had a -500 score lol. yea you can't TK in the ricochet modes though, it only kills you. sucks ass when you call in an airstrike and die twice in a row because your bomb hit a teammate :facepalm:

Thought I would raise this thread from the dead rather than start a new one...

I have been playing bfbc2 for a while and could not remember why I stopped until recently. I will be playing the game and at some point I hit some unknown key combination and then the game shows the window border around it and a weird small app shows up. It is a small box with japanese or chinese characters in it. It screws up my game and I usually die and have to start again from the checkpoint, when it happens all over again, but never at the same spot.

Wow dude, I've never seen that before. Sure it's from BC? Maybe it's other software, do you use macros or have customizable mouse keyboard software? Weird. No macros running that I know. I only see this in BFBC2. I am going to duplicate it and use task manager to start shutting things down to see if I can see what program it is associated with.

Are you running anything like EVGA's precision or some sort of GPU monitoring? I haven't ever seen that. Since it Windows your game it makes me think its something external to BC2. Does ALT+Enter fullscreen your game again?

I thought it was external to BFBC2, but it always goes away when I quit the game.

I am not running any other monitoring utilities that I know of and this is on my laptop. I _think_ that the characters are chinese and when the box pops up, hitting the direction key will change the character in the box. Alt-Enter will go back to fullscreen, but as soon as I hit any key (except the mouse) that box pops right back up and ruins the game. I usually have to quit the game and restart to make it go away. I actually got to play single player for an hour last night and it never popped up...

No, but I was thinking the same train of thought when I first saw it. I think you may be on to something though.

I was playing around after the Sharks game last night (what a rush that was!) and found the magical key combo to make it go away. It is not the same as the one that makes it show up though.

If I hold the right and left mouse buttons and then press CTRL+SPACE it goes away and restores the game to full screen. Got in some quality single player time last night too.

Damn that is close to what I am seeing. I don't have the EN on the task bar though. I have the laptop next to me and I am going to fire it up and look for the language setting to check it. Funny that this only happens in BFBC2 but I may not realize it happens in other program because I have not used that key combo otherwise...

It looks like you nailed it!

In the control panel settings for language under the Keyboards and languages tab hit the Change keyboard button, then under the advanced key settings, there is an option for Chinese IME toggle. I am going to disable it and see if I still get the problem...

The whole story? hmmm Well as I recall the whole story you are talking about had nothing to do with me sinking my trusty blade into your melon. But I'll tell a bit of both none the less.

So Curtis and I have had countless opportunities to stab each other in BC2 but have refrained to do so out of "professional courtesy". The image above was taken after a round we played when we were on opposite teams (as we often don't have a choice with a full server).

It was a good round with lots of fast paced ass-whoopin' and I was alone and trying to take a flag. Several of his team mates spawned there and I must have been in a good place to blend in because I caught them off guard and got about 3 of them, the last of which was a medic who crouched down shivering in fear at the carnage in-front of him.

I felt pity on this frail little male nurse and felt the best way to snuff him out would be a nice shiny new hat, so I plunged 8" of my soldier's steel right into the top of his dome like a flag pole. It was only at that moment that I noticed the name.... jdbnsn killed OvRiDe with combat knife oops :( I dropped to my knees and yelled to the sky "nooooooooo" as my former friend's blood poured down the pavement, right toward the flag that I was currently taking.

So lets have a moment of silence for the fallen agreement, collateral damage I like to call it, and the end of a no-stab era. I suppose now I am in for all sorts of stab wounds, especially after I was so kind as to apologize profusely over steam chat, just before I took a screenshot and posted the tragic evidence on a public forum for all his friends to see.





But the story he REALLY wants you to hear is the one where I was less of a champion, more of a moron. It was one of the maps with the snow and the cliff on the one side forming a wall. Lots of folks run right down the middle of the map toward the objectives, and sometimes others run down the sides to either flank or double back surrounding the enemy.

Again, we are on opposite teams. I am running down the cliff/wall in one direction, Curtis in the other. The main battle taking place out of view, myself and a couple of squad mates get the clever idea to flank the nearby objective and start making our way to it's lateral side. As we get close, one of the people on my squad who is a sniper hunkers down in a small bush which I must say was a brilliant hiding spot because for some reason this particular bush made him nigh-invisible. Even when I spawned next to him I couldn't see him.

So on with the plot that the mighty OvRiDe wants so much for me to share with you. I spawn on the sniper and start my dash further down the rock wall to get close enough to pounce. As I approach this small ledge which forms a shelf about 15' above the surface I am running on I hear a very odd sound.... "pop" and down I go.

Sigh, "OvRiDe killed jdbnsn with a toy pistol"

What a punk. No matter, re-spawn next to my clever sniping friend and continue the mission.

Once I've had a chance to sit down, catch my breath, pick up the keyboard, and reassure the neighbors that everything is fine in my apartment and a police report is really not necessary, I get back to it. Spawn next to the very well hidden and clearly autistic simpleton and go ballistic, running around in circles throwing grenades, and emptying clip after clip into beautiful tree lines which are serenely blanketed in a February snowfall, and bunny-hopping around like a noob in a full out spaz attack.

After I explain to the nice police officer knocking on my door that I simply hadn't taken my medication yet and everything would be just fine, I sit down and start to ponder. I mean really ponder, the kind of pondering that warrants a chin scratch to emphasize the depth of pondering. Oh my God, it hits me. I have been spawning next to this ****-for brains sniper who is crouching down in a bush doing God knows what all the while not remembering that this 15' rock-shelf has a ramp from the other side (i.e. very plausible hiding spot). So finally, finally I spawn and run to a spot where I can safely look up and who do I see? Uh huh, OvRiDe rolling around in the snow laughing with his little pistol and Nemesis pin. Don't judge me, what would you have done? I killed him....

I just started trying to get back into the game, but I keep getting on crappy servers. Servers that say I have 18 ping and then get into the game and its a lagfest, among other annoyances.

one I like for quick points is "A new gameservers (?) BFBC2 server is born" that's on Atacama Desert/Conquest 24/7. 2500 tickets, FAST respawn of vehicles, you can go in by yourself, and capture all 2 flags, switch teams, and just go back and forth. It's awesome
