A friend wants a pc/jukebox making for his bar, but he does not want the normal power up button,( thinks people will press it and turn the pc/jukebox off) can you buy a key switch that is a push to make ? i have seen the key switches that are on/off
http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=2441
but can you buy one that you turn to make (non latching ) thanks

you can buy that switch and wire it in series with the stock button so it must be on for the power switch to work.

not sure what you mean by non latching?

you're looking for an automotive-type switch with key then. put the key in, turn is on, then turn it further to start the computer, but you'd need to be able to take the key out so it can't be switched off. Unless you only use the turn to on part of it, like a momentary switch. then you can just turn the switch back off and remove the key. then shut it down the normal way through windows

or just put it somewhere that customers don't have access to

You can use that same switch you linked to.

To turn it on, put the key in, turn it to on then back off and pull the key out. All a momentary switch does is make momentary contact. You just did that by turning it on and back off. And now the key is in your friend's pocket where no one will mess with it. Turn it off the same way.
