Some of you may remember me moaning that my weedy little 0.5hp 6ltr compressor died from a broken valve a few months ago. I ran out and bought a new one - the first one paid for itself a dozen times over, and then some, in canned air, never mind the other uses I got out of it.
I went and bought this....

1.5hp, and a 25 litre tank. A definite improvement, or so I thought. I got roughly 4 years and countless hours out of my first compressor, this one was going to be cool - better in every way. From day one it had a leak. I isolated the leak and decided it wasn't terminal and was so minor a leak it wouldn't affect everyday operation. 8 weeks later, after maybe, at most, 4 hours use, it sheared off a mounting nut. I took it back to the store I bought it from, Machine Mart here in the UK, and after showing the guy the leak, and the sheared off nut, and the part that the nut held up, now hanging loose, I was informed that he couldn't refund me because he had to have an engineer look at it and confirm that it was faulty.... Apparently the 3 blatent undeniable items didn't automatically qualify. I'm a patient and calm man, most of the time, and didn't kick up a fuss as I'm well aware that he was only doing what he'd been told to do. No matter how much noise I made, he wasn't going to risk his job to give me an unauthorised refund, so I left it with them for "assessment" and left.
I'm not taking the thing back. I'll actually go to court over it if I have to - that much I've already decided.
This left me needing a compressor.... and I bought this today....

Cross ya fingers for me - here's hoping the damned thing lasts a while!!!
