So, with the help of this thread (http://theairbrushforum.com/tutorials-paint-airbrush/8693-silent-compressor-build-thread.html), I'm building a silent compressor. Here's the components.

A compressor from an old thrown out air conditioner:

An old compressor that someone ripped the motor off of. The tank, pressure switch, electric lines, pressure relief, and pressure gauge are still good. I'm not 100% sure of the capacity, but I'm estimating at least 20 gallons:

Total cost so far... free!

When you get to the wiring bit please make it very detailed. I tried to follow a similar build once and do it myself, but there were too many wires and I got confused and it eventually was thrown out.

Pretty much what happens with everyone of my mods!

Good luck on the project, I hate the sound of compressors.

That tank looks bigger than the one on my new compressor which is just under 55 litres.... I'd guess maybe 75-100

Ok, so it seems that I'm gonna need 4-6 of those compressors to fill this thing and not burn anything up. What I'm gonna do is rip the compressor motor off of a (beefy) 4 gallon dewalt that I have, and hook that up to the big tank, and then hook the AC compressor motor up to the 4 gallon tank.
