Applies to Professional, Enterprise and uiltimate versions only. But wicked cool! It's basically a software implementation of RAID-1.

Pretty awesome. Too bad they don't have a raid0 software option that could boost speeds.

Umm.. this is not new. ;) Windows has been able to do this software mirroring since Windows NT, granted it wasn't until XP where you could do it in a workstation version rather then a server version. Also this is not really a backup. Its protection against a hardware failure. The reason a RAID1 is not good for Backup reasons is it does not protect you against file corruption or just plain old human error. Its an exact copy of the other drive in REAL time. So if you delete something, its gone on both drives. Also if a process writes bad data or corrupts a file, it corrupts it on both drives as well.
As for RAID0, Windows can stripe the data across several dynamic disks, and also can span volumes as well.
