Hello my friends again, I am back for another project, the third in a row!
This time the project is based on a book by Mr.Robert Krakoff, founder and president of Razer.
The book is based on the year 2047 so expect a lot of lazer and cnc machines
and also a neat and clean look. More on the plans later on! Now some things about the
story of this book.
Intro - Presentation of book
Book synopsis:
"The story follows two Polish laborers, three nominees for President, five Naval Admirals, an ambitious Minister
of Finance for the African Union, and a beautiful Masai woman, through a much-changed world during a cutthroat
fight for the Presidency in 2047.
By the year 2047, the global landscape is ruled by world banks, Wall Street and mega-corporations. The leading
world governments have merged into massive Continental Unions. Even the USA is now the Union of Federated
Americas (UFA), incorporating the US, Canada and Mexico.
As such, the UFA finds that it's lost its foot-hold as a world leader, and fallen to forth power position behind the
Asian Union, European Union and the emerging African Union. The three candidates for the Presidency of the
UFA vie for their party’s nomination through fiercely competitive means, some honest, direct, cunning and
deceitful. All carry the banner to bring the country back to #1 position.
The leading candidates for President of the North American Continent in 2047 are a 300-pound black family
man, a bachelor exercise and computer geek with war aspirations, and an Hispanic Obama-wanna-be with a
flair for Coca Cola-like marketing.
The story portrays the world shifts in geopolitical, human and ethical reforms in the first half of the 21st century.
Cars run on pig-excrement, education is delivered by Starbucks, computers regulate everything, including
nutrition. The next battle for civil rights wages between the obese and the non-obese.
As natural resources within the UFA dwindle, for the first time in history, the African continent emerges as a
major power. To handle demands for its resources, Africa starts a massive foreign worker program. In an effort
to out-pace corporate greed learned in American graduate schools, the African ministers cut costs with their
worker program. Internet rumors circulate that white slavery is alive and thriving in Africa.
Each candidate wants to use the crisis for their own campaign advantage, but each bungle in their own way.
The characters are comical, poignant and imperfect as they strive for their personal power or peace."

My previous projects and info about me:
My name is Alex aka AnG3L and I am into case modding since
2004. I officially started posting my work at 2009, with my Project : AnG3L
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/angel.jpg
Recently I also finished Case Mod Project : Totechnika.
The mod was based on Native Indian's culture and its build of wood,
aluminum, steel and acrylic.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/tote.jpg
Plans and designs for Project : Future Schlock
I ve been working for 2 months, 12 hours a day on those plans. I was between a very complicated and extreme mod and also a neat and clean mod.
I based my idea on the future, as the books theme. So I wonder my self. How the future is going to look like? Oh scary and also mystery. So? Gothic.
I had to combine both elements from the book and also from the future.
My theory is that each generation has its own design patterns. Remember the sixties and seventies. Flowers, many colors, peace signs etc.
Also there are design patterns from older generations that are repeated in the new ages like the tribalism. Tribal designs on tattoos, appliques, clothes etc.
So I came up with the geometrical element of the future. The Circle. I ve been studying the circle theory for many years now and that was the key for me
to begin design my mod. Building the case based on the circular theory was impossible. I would end at a huge and not functional case. So I desided
to start drawing designs for the air ventilation holes and also for the radiator grills. That wasnt an easy task at all. I had to make something new and also develop
it because I couldnt use the same pattern in all of the rad grills and ventilation points.
The case had to be as neat and functional as possible. I wanted to use 140 mm fans on the front and also on the back side of the case do I had to design the case
in a matter that I could fit those fans and also create 2 sections with enough room for 2X 240 mm radiators and 1 360 radiator. The bottom section had to be taller than
any other case because my theory with the aluminum is:
If a aluminum is next or near to heat source ( psu, rads) it accommodates the heat, making the air circulation inside the case hotter.
Also the case has been planned in order to have a lot of room for cable management, lots of ventilation strategically placed for maximum heat dissipation and also
a 5 bay rom with special department for reservoir and pump. Also I will work with Mr.Chris Kozis on the acrylic parts to create a reservoir and many other things that
I will show later on.
Plans
Design concept - Circular theory ( http://www.circular-theory.com/circle)
What is the circular theory?
The circle is the basic entity, process, and system that produces and explains all
entities, processes, and systems.
o
the circle circles
circle = relationship = opposition
= observation = movement = reproduction = dimension = gravity =
absolute = infinite = intelligence = relativity
an
abstract = concrete = hidden = showing
entity = process = system
1=2=3
a still circle produces a moving circle
which produces (is), always, a circle of circles
which reduces (expands) to (is), always, one circle
circle is entity and process (noun and verb) producing subject and object,
singular and plural
there is a circle between noun and verb (subject and object, singular and plural)
this is the circular theory (circularity is reality)
We see the circle (at least) twice every day: it is the outline, or form, of both
sun and moon. We are standing on a circle that is traveling in a circle, around a
circle that is traveling in another circle. We live in a circle (even though it
looks like a square), we drive on four circles, we eat trillions of circles to
survive, and we wrap ourselves in various circles for protection. Reproduction, sex
and the family are all based on the circle. We see the circle in weather, seasons,
DNA, molecules and atoms. We see it in the jiggling Brownian motion of particles,
and in the rotation and revolution of planets and stars.

Now lets take a sneak peek on the project plans and designs:
First of all the case simple first plans:
I am going to use 15mm x 15mm aluminum bar to create 2 frames. One for the bottom and one for the top.
I will attach them using 2 pcs of 20mm x 20mm aluminum bars and also the back plate of the case.
2 aluminum angles 20mm x 20mm on the front also will be used and at the end the top and bottom aluminum sheet
will be added:

Now lets take a sneak peek in some of the many 2d plans .
These are just a portion of what is meant to come.
Many parts will be cut with laser(aluminum, stainless steel), some others (acrylic) with CNC machines.
The dotted lines are the bending points. I will use press bending machines to achieve the
best as I currently dont have a press brake capable of such accuracy.
So lets move on with some of the main case parts.
This is the front panel. It will be composed by an aluminum piece and
attached to that a black glossy acrylic. Mind that the case will be painted
black matte. At the right is the acrylic piece.
On the aluminum piece I will attach the stainless steel front intake by using M4 screws.
Every hole, every screw it has been planned from before. Even the sizes, the different pressure points for maximum durability and functionality.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Plans%202d/04.jpg
Next is the bottom and top part.
At the left side its the top part. You can see the 360 radiator hole which I planned a draw in
a way that only the fins of the radiator will be visible and not any other metal part like the
fan connections. Also there is a hole for the fillport which it will be connected directly to the 3bay reservoir.
At the right side is the bottom part. You can see the ventilation holes, between them there
is a part where I will pass through some cables so I didnt want to cut a useless ventilation there. The 2 radiators will face sideways blowing air from inside the case to the outside so
the ventilation will work in a way that the fans could draw air from underneath too and also from the front of the case.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Plans%202d/05.jpg
Here is the back part of the case or however you can call it ;) You can see that even the air ventilation are following the same pattern I created for that case mod. Every drawing is based on the circle.
This part is being designed in order to fit a 140 mm fan also with enough room between the PSU and the divider for the reasons I explained at the beginning of this worklog.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Plans%202d/03.jpg
Next is the bay rom. Is designed in order to fit one dvd - blu-ray rom, one fan controller (hole for fan cables to pass through the side) and I left space for a 3bay reservoir and the pump which it will be behind the res.
You can see the designs again. It was so difficult to draw so many designs and make them harmonize together perfectly.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Plans%202d/02.jpg
Here is the hdd and ssd cage. It has being designed in order to fit 2X ssd's and 3 hard drives.
In my theory in the future that would be the maximum for a pc enthusiast as the hdd's will come with huge capacity and you wont need more than 2 ssd's.
Its a futuristic design but I prefer to show you in real life how its going to look so stay tuned!
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Plans%202d/01.jpg
And the most simple thing last. The front fan holder. Designed for 2x 140 mm fans
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Plans%202d/00.jpg
There are many many more but I prefer to start working in real life and take pictures for you!
Till next time, stay tuned and peace to all of you!

This is my first official teaser update of things meant to come!
I did some primary work on the chassis nothing much, I will give you a clue
and also I laser cut the aluminum and stainless steel pieces. Next month I will move on to

First official update guys .
Unlike my other mods these updates will be more scheduled and planned in a specific order and not random as before.
First my work on the chassis. As you will see my first attempt was a failure for two reasons.
1)I didnt like it (felt somehow not sturdy)
2)I did a mistake on measurement.
So lets start this journey again!
9 o clock in the morning, nice weather, not so hot, its was a pleasure working!
Also made my self a "free" bench with a steel stand and a piece of old furniture I found somewhere! As long I can
work on it, its ok!
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%202/DSC06745.jpg
Took some measures using the top panel as a guide for the frames. Double check just to be sure! :)

Drawing a 45 degree on the 15mm aluminum bar:
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%202/DSC06748.jpg
The lack of power tools can sometimes be a real PITA but modding is fun too so lets enjoy it with some more extra
sweat and pain! ;P Theres nothing that you cant do with a dremel and a set of files!
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%202/DSC06751.jpg

And here they are the main pieces for the frames:
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%202/DSC06757.jpg
Marking the rivet holes on the smallest piece of the frame before assembling anything. I will attach the frame on
the back plate of the case.
Drilled with a 3mm drill bit for steel.

http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%202/DSC06763.jpg
I used a 20mm aluminum angle to make some 15mm angles for the frame.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%202/DSC06765.jpg
What did I tell you about the lack of power tools? I could go to a friend of mine and do
all of this and save myself some precious time, but how could I loose all this fun??? :)
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%202/DSC06766.jpg
Before filing:
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%202/DSC06767.jpg
After!!!!!
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%202/DSC06771.jpg
And this is how I did it!
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%202/DSC06772.jpg
Marked for rivet holes
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%202/DSC06774.jpg
I also sanded these corners because afterward it wont be possible to do so.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%202/DSC06775.jpg
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%202/DSC06776.jpg
Using the corners I cut with the laser to assembly some part of the frame:
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%202/DSC06777.jpg
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%202/DSC06778.jpg

http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%202/DSC06785.jpg
Now its time for the 20mm aluminum bars. This were I did the mistake. I cut the bars and after that I made some
changes before I send the drawings to the laser cutter and then I forgot to fix the length and it was 2,5 mm longer
that the rest...... I fixed that later though

And at the end of the first day I came up with this but I decided to take it apart and work
again , fixing the mistakes and working with a different approach.

it was time to fix some mistakes.

My route was different this time. I decided to begin by attaching some pieces of the frame on the back plate and the
move accordingly. I used my clamps to hold the pieces in place, riveted them and repeat.

http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%202/DSC06805.jpg
So, so far everything looks ok, the frame will be finished hopefully tomorrow.
The top and bottom panel will be attached also on the main chassis. I will use no-countersunk rivets in some places
and some countersunk stainless steel screws in other places. It will be a Gothic look but not so intense, going
everything countersunk and very clean it will loose the extreme at the end.
Wish me good luck again guys cause I really need it! Peace to you all guys and respect!

Next update on the main chassis again!
I decided to redo the chassis cause for a reason I didnt like it, it felt clampsy and "unprofessional". I went to different aluminum factories for welding but I couldnt find any.
So my ghetto knowledge had to work again! I had to find a cheap way but also good enough.
I went and buy some steel angles, a small "degree" holder to be able to cut 45 degrees etc using a saw, a saw for steel and a corner clamp.
Because I cant afford to buy expensive tools that doesnt mean that I cant find a way to do my job, even if it would be more difficult.
Here you can see my "ghetto" cutter.

Well you can call me crazy, perfectionist or whatever you like!
Yes I disassemble the chassis for the fourth time just because it was 1,5 mm longer somehow and when I tried to attach some panels and other stuff there wasnt aligned so lets go again!!
This time though its the last cause first I followed a totally different route for the frame making
and also triple checked everything. I suspect the ridiculously hot weather we have here for all these "problems" I had, believe me 40 degrees Celsius can do some nasty tricks, especially when you work under the sun !!
This time I used a smaller table I found in the yard which it wasnt bended like my bench and that made my life a lot easier.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%203/DSC06844.jpg
Attached the first part of the frame on the backplate using rivets, all of the main chassis will be with rivets, the rest with countersunk screws. (sorry for the image quality)

http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%203/DSC06848.jpg
This time I attached the bottom plate to align it with the frame just to be sure and also add some durability before I move on with the other parts of the chassis.

Here is my latest update on the work I did today.
I removed this motherboard backplate from an old case to use it with my mod.

Tap and die set.... lets use it! ;P
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%204/DSC06873.jpg
In my plans I ... planned to use this Lian Li PSU "thing" instead of laser cut it on the back plate. So I can remove and insert the PSU easily.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%204/DSC06875.jpg
Now the work I did on the middle floor of the case. I measured and then I used some clamps to hold that in place. For the people who wonder what that big hole is, I am going to attach a clear acrylic with a white cold cathode underneath to illuminate the top part. Many little surprises like that going to follow!
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%204/DSC06877.jpg

Thats it for today guys. Some notes though. There is a tiny space between the motherboard tray and the main floor. There is a reason
though. I have experienced a lot of "July bugs" with aluminum cases (hot weather - dilation - expansion) and with my original plans I
added some small features which I believe will help.
Till next time guys, peace! :)

Time for another update guys!
Yesterday I did some more adjustments on the mobo tray. I removed 2 mm from the bottom in order to align the holes for the brackets with
the mobos i/o plate. Also changed the screws with rivers on the support plate because its not going to be removable and also its more
sturdy as the screws is not big enough.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%206/DSC06976.jpg
Then I had to install the rad holders on the low department. First some measures and marks.

Back to work now. In order to attach the second rad holder I needed some spacers for the screws. I went to a couple of stores with no
luck, so I told my self, why dont you do some gothic ones by yourself? Yes gothic ones....!!!
So I used this weicon aluminum repair stick. You work with it as a plasticine, you can give it any shape you want and when it dries you
can drill it, sand it etc.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%206/DSC07034.jpg
First cut a small piece:
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%206/DSC07035.jpg
Then you have to work with it as with plasticine for a couple of minutes so the different chemicals will blend together.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%206/DSC07037.jpg
I used a screw to give it the primary shape and let it drie.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%206/DSC07038.jpg
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%206/DSC07039.jpg
Cut it down to the desired length and also file it a little.

Another update guys.
I didnt do much these days due to lack of time.
First of all I attached the motherboard standoffs. I used an old MSI board I had here
to perfectly align the holes and also position the motherboard in the right place for the
bracket holes.

http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%207/DSC07065.jpg
I used nuts to secure the standoffs because if your over tight the screws on aluminum surface tends to break the threads. I wanted to buy a tool that inserts threads for screws but
I didnt have the money but I believe this does the job.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%207/DSC07066.jpg
Time to attach one more thing on this case :P
This will hold an acrylic creation I am going to do which it will have 2 liquid pass-through channels that they will move the liquid from the radiator to the cpu and from the motherboard blocks back to the reservoir. That way I am going to avoid extra tubing from interfering with the other reservoir I am going to install.

Next I marked for the holes needed to attach the double front intake on the 5,25'' bay
and also made some threads for the screws.

Using anti-vibration rubber to prevent unnecessary vibration for the fans spreading through the bay and to the hard drives and also reducing extra noise. Also later on I will add more anti-vibration rubber strategically placed in many parts of this mod to prevent noise and vibrations.

Really great work so far! Its nice to have the proper tools to do the job right.
On a side note. I can't help but notice you like to post multiple images of the same thing. They are slightly different angles, but in general show exactly the same thing. Honestly, I find this to detract from what you are trying to show. it just makes me have to scroll father down the page and after a while, kinda got annoying.
Just some constructive criticism, its not a big deal, just thought I'd bring it up.
keep up the good work though, its going to be an amazing case when done.

Thanks guys.
@rendermandan My friend thanks too, in the modding world this is a necessity unfortunately. Many modders like me would like to see how the different components look in various angles for photography reasons but also when I shoot ex. a creation I did many people would like to see the different angles for tips how to create it, where to put a screw or the various pressure points etc. If you see at other modders worklogs you will see the same thing. When I didnt do that many people complained like I did to other modders when I couldnt clearly see in a photo something I wanted to learn or notice. Nice to see some constructive criticism here! Peace

LoL yeah that would be nice, though my smokes cost me 20 Euros a month which is not so much, health is a priority I know, I wish I wanted to quit because its not that I cant its just I dont want to quit :)
Indeed :)
I hear in NY they costs about 10 American dollars a pack. I smoked clove cigarettes from the age of 16 to 21 and did not quit until I wanted to (also met and married my wife which helped me not to start up again). I am sure when the time is right you will do so. at least all that metal bending keeps you in shape ;)

I smoked for 10+ years. Quitting wasn't an easy thing to do, but when I did it was the "right time" for me. It's been 9 years now and sometimes I still miss the relaxing part of it. But that's all I miss. Anyway, nice progress. I really like how this is coming together.

Thanks guys, quitting isnt an easy step buddy but will is stronger!
One quick update for you guys, not much due to lack of time again.
I did some work on the 5.25'' cage, first some cuts so it will fit between the chassis corners and angles.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%208/DSC07146.jpg
Next the divider, one part will host the fan controller and the blu ray writer and the other
will host the custom acrylic reservoir and also the pump.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%208/DSC07147.jpg
Holes for the rivets
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%208/DSC07149.jpg
And installed!
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%208/DSC07153.jpg
Then I attached the double intake so I could perfectly align both cage and intake with the front panel. This is not going to be the final look of the front panel, one more like this but with acrylic will be between the case and the front and also at the sides I will attach some black acrylic corners.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%208/DSC07157.jpg
And attached using rivets. The cage wont be removable, I couldnt find a reason why it should be!

http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%208/DSC07159.jpg
And also the hdd cage installed for testing. This is going to be removed again as you will see
because I will attach some acrylic parts on it and there will be no further testing on the assembly for this part.

2 days ago I received the books from Mr.Robert Krakoff, till now I had only a text version but now I have the real deal!!! Amazing writing, a new style which it will make you feel like you watching a movie! Thanks again for the inspiration my friend!!

So lets go back to modding! After I installed the hdd cage I also attached a hard drive on it
to see where the wires will be exactly (sata and power).
This little hole if you believe it or not it took me 2 hours! You know why?
I forgot to buy some reinforced disks for my dremel and I only had some thin ones for acrylic!
It was cutting a millimeter - change disk- cutting a millimeter - change disk !!!!
OMG that was a real PITA!!! But anwz after I cut the main part I used the files and some small
sanding drums and more sanding at the end to get it done.

The updates will be small but frequent I need to minimize the time of working due
to some negotiations with sponsors, I must get the last parts in order to keep on working.
Till next time, peace my friends! :)

Lets go for one more update!
I was really busy these days again, I was working on a new build for my friend's company
and also on the designing and also some changes of some acrylic parts I am going to use with
this mod.
First I am going to show you my work on the panel's stands. For the
right side panel I had to create 2 stands for the middle screws. I used 2cm aluminum angle.
Marking, cutting and filing to remove any sharp edges for aesthetic and practical reasons!
(You dont want to get some nasty scratches while you are working on the cable management!)

http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%209/DSC07188.jpg
Next step. 2 holes for the screws to be attached on the chassis. I decided to use screws because the rivet gun was impossible to work there due to space and also for aesthetic reasons (it looks more aggressive like that) They are not going to be removable though, I might use titanium on the threads later on to attach them on the chassis.

Next step was to create a "mechanism" for the double intake. I say mechanism cause the double intake is designed to bend due to the anti-vibration washers for me to be easier to install and remove fans without to have to remove the top screws which they are attached on the 5.25 bay. I used some 1.5cm aluminum and a lot of imagination.
Here you can partially see my homemade "brake" tool :P
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%209/DSC07201.jpg
Bended and also as you can see the first 2 holes.

Attached this piece with rivets as it wont be removable and also the rivets wont be visible.

http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%209/DSC07213.jpg
Here you can see the bending ratio of the intake panel. You can easily remove and install the fans from the sides, top and bottom area.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%209/DSC07217.jpg
As you can see here I also took in count the space required for the extra anti-vibration washer. The "mechanism" is attached on the chassis with a small hexagonal screw. I was
going to use a thumbscrew there but it was too small and also nobody is going to remove and install fans so often, so there isnt such need :)

http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%209/DSC07224.jpg
I also did some quick filing of the bottom ventilation part, I will show more about this part
of the case in upcoming updates!

Here is the work I did on the panels (for now!)
First some countersunk holes. Thanks George for the tips even though my countersunk bit
only needed low rpm and medium pressure, I realized that each bit acts differently even if they are meant to be for the same material and usage.

Marking for the holes and threads.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%209/DSC07248.jpg
First panel installed. As you might noticed I used philips screws for the top part and hexagonal for the bottom. The design is bottom and top part of the case with philips screws, so because they are two different panels, the top panel will have the philips screws on the top.... :) and the second panel on the lower part.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%209/DSC07253.jpg
Also made some changes on the divider of the 5.25 bay. First removed the rivets to be replaced with smaller hexagonal screws and also removed 1 cm from the wings.

Here I show you a part of the case where I plan to do the engravings. That space will be empty but take in count that next to it there will be placed on stainless steel radgrill.
Let me know what you think please!
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%209/DSC07263.jpg
Here you can see also the right side panel installed. The big hole will be covered with an acrylic so I removed the extra aluminum cause it was useless and also that way I remove
unnecessary extra weight, also the smaller one will be a ventilation and also a small stainless
steel will be attached there. Stay tuned for more :)

Time for one more update guys!
First of all I finished the hdd cage. I went to my friend Chris Kozis for the acrylics and he cut me on the CNC some
parts so I could work and the most complicated parts we let them for later as I was going back to glue the reservoir
and bend some other pieces.
Countersinking and testing the screws if they fit perfectly.

http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%2010/DSC07291.jpg
Perfect fit!!!!!
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%2010/DSC07294.jpg
So now its time to attach the bottom part. I used black acrylic and I also draw some circles NOT for aesthetic
reason but to remove unnecessary material and extra weight. I did that in every part of the case I could , like the
right side panel etc in order to decrease the overall weight of this mod!
Some masking tape to mark the holes.

Threads and testing the size of the screw so I will remove the extra part.

Cut the screws for the ssd holders. The ssd holders as you might notice, they can be moved forward and backwards for
almost 1 cm, that might come in handy while I am going to do the cable management.

it whenever I want.

Went back to Mr.Kozis workshop to finish the rest. I wanted to have the reservoir glued and put together by an
expert cause I didnt have the proper glue and also the experience to make it as clean as possible. I also couldnt
afford to do any mistakes and ruin the looks of this mod.
First I did the threads in my place and then go to Kozis to do the rest.

on something simple and neat just not to overdo it at the end.

And here is the acrylic thing I did, sorry I dunno any name for that so please if anyone knows let me know. It will
transfer the liquid from the rad to cpu and from the north bridge back to res.
I used some slow epoxy to make sure it will be secure and have no leaks.
This will be painted so I didnt care if it will be messy from the glue. Beside I will sand it and paint it later on.

minor polishing and sanding and also did the threads for the screws.

My brother your comment is very kind thanks so much! I see you study all the case modders, we are all a big family, indeed that creation is like Bodaker's all the credits go to him, I decided to use something like his design when my own plans went to a dead end. Also oldnewby is a friend of mine and I am way behind his skills but thanks for the compliments. I consider my self a passionate case modder but I am at the very beginning yet and I always want to improve my skills and also my patience! Peace!

Here I am for one more update! As I promised there will be surprises and here I am with
"arty" new techniques.
But first of all lets see the creation of the case's feet.
For that creation I used 3mm black acrylic in circles of 5 and 4.5 cm each.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%2011/1.jpg
8mm threads ready!
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%2011/DSC07394.jpg
And the process of polishing. I created something to hold the circles on the drill and by using
300, 500 and 1000 grit I achieved a very nice result. Also for the finish touch I used some polishing compound too.

http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%2011/DSC07401.jpg
Later I measured the distance needed for the steel thread I was going to install.Cut them and filed the edges.

Before.........
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%2011/DSC07410.jpg
After!!!!!!
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%2011/DSC07413.jpg
After that, I assembled them by attaching one circle - added slow epoxy - added another circle and so on.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%2011/DSC07468.jpg
For the bottom part of the feet I decided to use a matte sticker - no any special purpose, I guess aesthetic (non visible lol) reasons!!

This is Part 1 of this update. Part 2 follows in a while.....

Here is Part 2! This is one of the art parts of this mod!
Here you will see the creation of the flag which involves 4 new techniques!
Appliance of silver leaves, aging and 3d effect process and also fake matte anodize effect for acrylic!
First lets begin with the very time wasting process. It took me 6 whole days to finish it!
Here is the creation of a special liquid which in my language is called gomalakka but I couldnt find the word in English. Here is its original form, It looks like fish skin!
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%2011/Flag/DSC07383.jpg
Here you can see the silver leaves I am going to use.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%2011/Flag/DSC07385.jpg
In order to make gomalakka a liquid we will need pure alcohol and a lot of patience.....
We need to put them together in a glass bottle (colored preferred) and shake them for 1 hour and in the meantime we need to change bottles to remove any small leftovers.

http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%2011/Flag/DSC07390.jpg
The final liquid wouldnt be visible through that bottle in order to take some pictures, it has
a browny color and a very sticky feeling. We use this in order to prepare the surface for the "mixtion" which is the glue for the silver.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%2011/Flag/DSC07427.jpg
First some sanding to eliminate any scratches. I wont need to do some hard work because gomalakka has the effect to close any imperfections of the surface by a creating a crystal above it.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%2011/Flag/DSC07453.jpg
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%2011/Flag/DSC07454.jpg
Removed any dust and ready for gomalakka.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%2011/Flag/DSC07455.jpg
By using a brush I apply that liquid. 1,5 hour....
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%2011/Flag/DSC07456.jpg
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%2011/Flag/DSC07458.jpg
Then I applied the mixtion which is the special glue for the silver. It becomes ready after 3 hours or more (some mixtions require 12 or 24 hours!) because it has to dry and become like a crystal, not sticky.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%2011/Flag/DSC07459.jpg
And I begin to apply the silver with a special brush called "air" cause its very smooth for us not to scratch the leaves. Process : 1 hour
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%2011/Flag/DSC07462.jpg
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%2011/Flag/DSC07463.jpg
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%2011/Flag/DSC07464.jpg
In order to make the aging and 3d effect technique we need to repeat this process 3 times!!!!
First we remove parts of the silver with a sharp object and also creating some patterns on it.
Then we apply silver again! In the areas where the silver will be doubled, it will shine more and be more smooth. That way it gives a feeling of aging.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%2011/Flag/DSC07465.jpg
After I applied silver again I come to remove any excess pieces of silver with the "air" brush again.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%2011/Flag/DSC07473.jpg
Here you can see how it looks.... for now!
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%2011/Flag/DSC07474.jpg
Then I have to sand the surface to see more clearly any extra details I have to add or remove, because many of the silver is stacked on the primary surface of the flag.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%2011/Flag/DSC07476.jpg
Again removed silver and also did some patterns!
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%2011/Flag/DSC07477.jpg
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%2011/Flag/DSC07478.jpg
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%2011/Flag/DSC07479.jpg
I also added some vitraux liner *third time in my mods* to give that 3d effect!
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%2011/Flag/DSC07503.jpg
Removed again the excess pieces of silver with a finer "air" brush and also polished the silver by using only cotton!
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%2011/Flag/DSC07509.jpg
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%2011/Flag/DSC07511.jpg

http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%2011/Flag/DSC07513.jpg
Now for the final technique which I call the fake matte anodize cause the final look will be matte -not glossy- with small lines that I created with a sanding brick.
First we have to sand the surface with 500-1000-1500 and polish it.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%2011/Flag/DSC07514.jpg
After that we wet sand with a 300 grit sanding brick with straight and quick moves but we apply almost no pressure. Then its ready for some clear coat mostly for the silver.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%2011/Flag/DSC07520.jpg
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%2011/Flag/DSC07523.jpg
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%2011/Flag/DSC07526.jpg
And the final step is to repeat the last step! ;) This time though the process is slower and more carefull so the lines will be like - one matte- one semi gloss look like. This will give the feeling of the fake anodize.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%2011/Flag/DSC07528.jpg
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%2011/Flag/DSC07532.jpg
And here is our final product!!!!

Great work! Ilike the feet clean yet detailed. That flag panel is awesome, having worked in a sign shop I know how tedious leafing is. And the anodized look turned out wonderful.

According to a friend of mine, the material I used that we call gomalakka, it's called Shellac.

Quick update again guys. Some random work I did this couple of days.
First of all I replaced the philips screws of the side panels with 5mm hexagonal ones which are
stainless steel and they will be polished later.
I also didnt countersunk them completely, it gives a more extreme look to the case that way, a more "mechanical" look as I like to say.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%2012/DSC07538.jpg
Second I installed the little window for the cathode. Threads on the acrylic first:

Countersunk the holes for the screws
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%2012/DSC07561.jpg
And installed. I didnt remove the protecting tape as I want to protect the surface from scratches.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%2012/DSC07565.jpg
Some work that I did on the front panel. First I had to remove 1mm from the bottom and top part of the front face. This mistake occurred to some last minute changes but it something that
it can be "easily" fixed!

http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%2012/DSC07560.jpg
Off course thats not final as I have a lot to do yet.
I also did the remaining threads of the side panels.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%2012/DSC07566.jpg
I also tried to install the acrylic window and after I did the threads I realised that the holes for some reason wasnt aligned! In the Corel Draw designs are perfectly aligned but for
some strange reason they were completely out of alignment! That "unlucky" incident was for a good reason though as you will see the engravings on the window have some white spots which I
didnt like at all so now I am going to laser cut it and etch the letters instead of engraving them. So... some bad situation turned that they 've happened for our own good!

First, the mesh for the ventilation.

http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%2012/DSC07571.jpg
And then everything else attached. I have to polish the stainless steel (2047) and do the engravings ( I am thinking of some crackling effect but we will see)

My friend checking my work!
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%2012/DSC07577.jpg
As you can see the way I designed it the mesh is hidden between the aluminum and the stainless steel, that way its more clean and good looking.

Ok time for one more update guys!
These days I did various little things which you will see in the process.
For the next days I will slow my pace cause I need to clear some things with sponsors - companies etc. Also I wait for some packages to arrive in order to keep on working and
also I have to make some more orders.
Lets start with some sleeving. I only did the 24 pin as I run out of sleeving and heatshrink!!
Here is something I did in order to cut the heatshrink in exact size pieces. Simple yet effective!
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%2013/DSC07584.jpg
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%2013/DSC07585.jpg
I also decided to change the 20 + 4 pin connector with a 24 solid one.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%2013/DSC07589.jpg
And the rest of the process with no comments. More pictures to follow in the upcoming updates.

The reason I split the cables in 2 with cable ties is for management reasons and also
for aesthetic ones when I will come to the final assembly.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%2013/DSC07664.jpg
Next I attached the faceplate on the reservoir by using slow epoxy glue.
As you can see theres a space on the top side, thats because it will be hidden by the front panel.
More on that later on.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%2013/Rest/DSC07607.jpg

one lol ! Anywayz check out the process with no comments.

Here you will see one of my new painting techniques. This technique is called the "marble effect". Its a mixture of the crackling, multi-layer, splash and fade out techniques. It took me 5 hours straight due to the intense heat outside, otherwise I would have spent more than 10 hours!
First 2 layers of primer and then 2 layers of matte black.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%2013/Rest/DSC07633.jpg
Then a thin layer of primer and right away we start scratching the surface creating that way
the crackling effect. One layer matte black, repeat and again primer and repeat.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%2013/Rest/DSC07634.jpg
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%2013/Rest/DSC07635.jpg
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%2013/Rest/DSC07636.jpg
Then we add our secondary color which in our case will be chrome. I didnt want that
to be shiny as I would like to give emphasis on the other parts like the fittings and blocks inside the case so I used the fade out technique.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%2013/Rest/DSC07637.jpg
Some sanding in between and now let the pictures talk by themselves. :)

I like the different sized holes, it gives it a unique look. Another method of getting a marble look is to paint both colors at the same time, then while the paint is still wet dab it with a wad of plastic wrap or a crumpled up bag. It takes some pratice to get it to come out right, but when you get it it has a smooth finish with just 1-2 coats of clear. That being said what you did looks fantastic.

Nice work cutting the holes for ventilation. I also like the paint work. I know it took a lot of effort but it created a nice effect.

That's insanely hot. Also, I am ashamed to admit it, but it's been so long since I've converted Celsius to Fahrenheit that I had to Google it. It's nearly 115! I thought Alabama was bad, but we've topped out around 102 this year.

22c here, no way I could handle such heat 46c holy sheet, seems april & may is peak summer the past few years in uk, been cloudy virtually the whole time the past few june to augusts, totally forgotten what a heatwave is like so it would hit me hard if we got one. Stay cool bro, think I'd be chilling in a cold bath most of the time at 46c, I know I've said this before to you but have you tried soaking a t-shirt in cold water, ringing it dry & throwing it on, honestly it is great for bringing body temps down to good levels for 2 to 3 hours.

And also welcome EVGA which they made a small discount to me for the EVGA FTW 3 motherboard. I choose this motherboard to fit with my theme which as
you already know is black and silver and I want to be careful with every detail on this mod. Thanks EVGA too!

As I promised I am back for an update.
Due to the weather conditions here (46 Degrees Celsius and up) I did some work inside my room and as you might guessed , sleeving indeed! Also in order to keep on with this mod I have to receive 6 packages with hardware and various other stuff so I got to wait for them to arrive and start working on the case again.
Here you will see some of the sleeving work I did. I measured all the cables to the right length, I cut them, soldered them and.... sleeved them.
I would like to apologize for the poor quality of the pictures, my camera gone crazy and with the same lighting and settings it shoots totally different quality pictures, I have to buy a new one soon.
So lets begin our "sleeving" journey! First of all the work I did on the USB extension cable
and also on the 8pin mobo extension.
I will redo the power supply as long as I get some silver sleeving and some other stuff I wait to arrive.

And here are the white cold cathodes. One cathode has to be on the upper part of the case so I had to increase its length. Also I made a hole on the box for the one cathode to look upwards. One of the cathodes is soldered on the circuit for "convenience" reasons :)

2 controllers are going to be attached on the second GPU radiator. I had to modify them in order to reach the power source and also the 2 fans.

Wow you have been busy doing the wires, awesome wire work update AnG3L,
Loving the sleeving, ultra tidy , I like the custom cartoon sketches on the packaging from MDPC, nice touch :).
Where I have always messed up with soldering is not using flux which I only just found out helps make nice joints & crocadile clip helping hands would help a lot too, I was doing it all the hard way whenever I tried .

At the end of this mod, I will run a lot of benchmarks regarding the performance of each product of this mod including temperatures, overclocking
potentials etc etc.
So lets move on to the second package I received from my sponsors!
Please welcome MSI on board!!!
My friends at MSI were absolutely fantastic on communication and negotiations, something
I really admire and appreciate! Thanks MSI again!

All we need is in here!! Thermal pads, screws, etc etc. In the package it wasnt included any thermal paste so I used some MX2. MX3 is used for the
mobo etc.

GPU reinforce bracket also installed. According to EK it reinforces the PCB for perfect GPU contact with water block without unwanted PCB bending
which is a very good addition.

This is something I will add on the backplate later on, it will be laser cut black acrylic with fake anodize and silver leaf technique, I might change
my mind though but I will keep you updated for any changes.

Back for a quick update.
I changed my plans on the MSI back plate logo, due to insufficient space and visibility.
The graphic cards are very close to each other, I had to modify the Bitspower acrylic sli tube in order to fit too. As you will see I installed EK 's
EVGA X58 kit which is acetal + nickel.
Also my camera gone crazy and I believe is going to die soon as it cant zoom, it stays blur and I
cant shoot etc etc. I will buy a new one soon, forgive me about the quality at the moment.

http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%2015/MSI/MSI%20logo%20etc/DSC08048.jpg
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%2015/MSI/MSI%20logo%20etc/DSC08051.jpg
I decided to attach the logo on the side of the cards using the free sli connector slots.
I used this old sli bridge to take the connectors.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%2015/MSI/MSI%20logo%20etc/DSC08052.jpg

http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%2015/MSI/MSI%20logo%20etc/DSC08054.jpg
Then I cut a piece of black acrylic for the logo.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%2015/MSI/MSI%20logo%20etc/DSC08056.jpg
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%2015/MSI/MSI%20logo%20etc/DSC08057.jpg
Printed the logo on a sticker and attached it on the acrylic. That way I will be able to engrave the acrylic more precisely. I will combine a gothic
style pattern engraving with a crackle effect silver leaf technique to give the logo a more artistic style.

I applied the mixtion and while it was needed to cure for 3 hours I glued the connectors using slow epoxy.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%2015/MSI/MSI%20logo%20etc/DSC08079.jpg
Applied 2 layers of silver leaf and with a needle I did the crackling effect (total of 9 hours preparation) . Here are some pictures!

Is the 2nd sli connector only needed for 3 way sli & this to act just as a cover for the sli connector so you still use a sli connector but hidden, nice touch & 9 hours for a little but cool feature like that is awesome dedication bro ;).
I'm a newb when it comes to multiple gpu's, although I just added my old 9800GTX for physx to go with my 5870 yesterday & got a nice boost in games but could still be better, so want to get a gtx460 with it having many cores for physx & with it being dx11.

well he didn't use the SLI bridge in the part, he just used the connectors, so it doesn't actually do anything but hold that MSI plate.
And how do you ahve a 9800GTX in with a 5870? :?
you should have 2 9800GTX's or 2 5870's, depending on your chipset (some support SLI only, others Crossfire only, and some do both)

Ah thats what I thought but was unsure :), link (http://www.thebestcasescenario.com/forum/showthread.php?p=300231&posted=1#post300231) to air cube log with results of hybrid physx so not to hijack AnG3Ls log :).

I love when someone notice something that I dont mention! Indeed my friend the logo is designed to hide the sli bridge too! At first I planned an sli bridge cover but then I got that idea and I replaced it! Nice use of your hybrid physx but in my opinion is better to use nvidia in sli if you are gaming in high resolutions. I am not an nvidia fanboy but I prefer nvidia for my own reasons.
I could use ATI if I didnt face so many driver problems with my client builds....

I'm running 2 3870x2's in crossfire right now and LOVE it :) I play MW2 on full high @ 1280x1024 and still get 20-30fps. I'd like to upgrade to a pair of 5770's or something newer for anice boost in speed, but I don't have the cash. I could get a pair of XFX 5770's for $300, but I'm sure I'd have a hard time selling a pair of outdated 3870x2's lol

You can always buy an N465GTX Twin Frozr II with 300 and overclock it where no limit exists! That card is a beast with very good overclocking potentials and if you like water then thats your bet!

Back for one more update, I did a lot of work but I will post my work later on in upcoming updates .

First some things I ordered.
LG Blu Ray Writer, Intel Core i7 930 and 2X Western Digital 500GB Sata6 hard drives

Reinforcements arrived from Mr.Nills at MurderMod and Aquatuning.
A lot of cable management clips (new series), connectors in black, pins for ATX, some watercooling bits I needed and silver sleeving!!

Now I will show you some work I did in association with my friend Masbuskado from NewModCity! I wanted to do some stickers - logos for Corsair's ram, airflow and psu.
So Masbuskado was the best for that kind of job. He is a fantastic modder and also a web and graphic designer!
If you want custom logos, any graphic job or even a website send me a PM and I will get you in contact with one of the best!
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%2015/orders%20stickers%20sleeving/nmcgrafx10_450.jpg
Here you can see his creation, I just told him my idea and immediately he created that awesome logo!
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%2015/orders%20stickers%20sleeving/angelstickers_b.jpg
First I tried to make some stickers but later on I decided to use a high glossy paper and glue it my self for the reasons you can see here:
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%2015/orders%20stickers%20sleeving/DSC07836.jpg
So I printed and cut the desired logos in the right length and width, got my "tools" ready and with some patience I got the job done!

I also redid the Power Supply. As you can see I canceled the 2 PCI express cables because I am going to use the modular cables for that. I also did the sleeving again with some silver addition and also sleeved the 8pin mobo cable. Here are some pictures:

Any high gloss will be ok

Nicely removed red paint or anodise?, I'd have thought they were anodised but unsure now, not seen the memory in reality, only on my monitor.
Like the labels, the AnG3L's Mods font looks awesome with the wings behind it, really looks like a cool brand name :).

Back again for a largish update! :)
As I am approaching the end of this mod, the things I ve got to do are details and final assembly checks. You will see that process on the upcoming updates so expect details, artistic adds etc!
Lets begin with some "artistic" custom cable management clips (large name huh ) I created
for two large group of cables, because for the rest I am going to use mostly clips from MDPC-X.
I used 2 mm aluminum for that.
First the primary shape.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%2015/1.jpg
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%2015/2.jpg
Then I created a "gothic" style pattern using the dremel bits you see in the picture.
Those clips are going to be powder coated black. Also I filed all the edges and corners for them to be smooth not to rip apart sleeving and cables!

http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%2015/5.jpg
While I was installing the tube reducer I noticed that a fitting was interfering with the 5.25 bay
so I had to cut a piece.
Just a quick marking there :P

And done!
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%2015/DSC07908b.jpg
Also I had to cut a piece from the middle floor department for the cables to pass though.

http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%2015/DSC07917.jpg
The custom spacers I created needed some sunshine :P I got them ready in order to give them a new shiny look as you will see.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%2015/DSC07920.jpg
While I was waiting for the primer to dry I found the chance to polish some of the screws!
First step.....
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%2015/DSC07925.jpg
Second step........
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%2015/DSC07927.jpg
Third step.......... You can see the hexagon hole dirty... Me no like!
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%2015/DSC07932.jpg
And final step! Here I used for the final touch, a metal polish from Autosol which I have to admit is really good! I also used a special bit to clean the holes for the perfect finish!

http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%2015/DSC07954.jpg
As I mentioned before I am going to use titanium in order to close some holes, fix something on the chassis etc etc. Here you will see some of the work I did. This thing is really strong and it can be powder coated later on!

I also modified the top acrylic in a more aggressive and minimalistic design. I also applied the fake anodize technique which I will show you in an upcoming update more details! I am using a polish afterward so no fingerprints, no dust and a shiny extreme look!

http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%2015/DSC08139.jpg
Here you will see my tests after I cut that piece from the bay.

Reservoir clips... ok!
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%2015/DSC08145.jpg
Reservoir and pump attached together and installed them so I could measure the hole for the tubing.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%2015/DSC08146.jpg
Start the drills!! And a lot of filing too!
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%2015/DSC08148.jpg
In the first hole I added a rubber one....
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%2015/DSC08149.jpg
And a Bitspower on the other! Many people would have gone with 2 the same but I prefer
to give my own touch to my mods and dont just immitate. Also this mod is a combination of art and industrial so as with Totechnika when I mixed the art with technology so here I do something similar.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%2015/DSC08151.jpg

And a random shot!
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%2015/DSC08154.jpg
Testing the reservoir. I added a piece of acrylic on the front face to give a 3d look and more modern, it looks great but I prefer to take some shots afterward on that.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%2015/DSC08155.jpg
Here is the ASUS Xonar I mentioned before. The card when is installed it has some bright orange lights. That wont fit with the theme so I decided to remove them completely. I dunno if that will cause any problems but modding is all about.... modding lol :)
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%2015/DSC08160.jpg
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%2015/DSC08161.jpg
Also there was a sticker which it was half removed and I replaced it with one mine as it was
really ugly and also I couldnt remove it without damaging the card!!!!
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%2015/DSC08162.jpg
Some more titanium work! I decided to cancel some of the holes on the 5.25 bay as I wasnt going to use them.

http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%2015/DSC08172.jpg

Here I am again guys for one of the last updates!
We are moving towards to completion of this mod and I hope you enjoyed
this little journey!
First I designed in my mind the main route of the cables and I attached some MDPC
cable holders:

http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%2016/DSC08230.jpg
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%2016/DSC08231.jpg
Here you will see a new technique I developed. Its a "marriage" between aluminum and titanium. I order to "marry" these two materials together I had to prepare the aluminum by scratching the surface using a hand grinder. The process was very difficult as you have to use little titanium each time and spread it on the surface so it will be like one with aluminum, then some little more over it etc etc.
I decided to create a rough surface on the aluminum by using this technique so I can give a 3d effect too.
Instead of circle drawings I engraved some quotes from the book as I thought it would have been better and more close to my theme as I already have many different drawings and designs. **

http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%2016/DSC08249.jpg
Here you will see that I sanded the ram heatsinks and polished them after.

http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%2016/DSC08252.jpg
Also polished the brackets instead of powder coating them.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/Update%2016/DSC08262.jpg
In some random pictures you will see my efforts to polish the stainless steel parts of this mod.
As they were deeply scratched the whole process failed so now I went to a professional to have the polished after I ve spent over 14 hours and 140 Euros of new equipment.....

So back again for a small update as I am approaching the finish line!
No comments on the pictures as I am about to finish as I dont have something to explain
further as the most parts are assembly process etc.
So here today you will see a technique I used on the engravings with silver leaves.
This technique makes the silver hard as the powder coating but it took me 2 days to finish it.
I decided to go with a gothic look on the quotes and make them look like actual simple hand drawing instead of a fancy font. I always like to play with various styles in one mod like this one. Gothic, Industrial, Artistic. All combined in one.
Also forgive me for the dusts etc it was too windy outside today and no matter what I did I couldnt get rid of the dust, leaves etc lol :P
Let the pictures talk !

Here I am guys for the final worklog update of this project.
These are some of the assembly pictures more left to be done but as I usually do
I keep some minor details for me and the final shots ;)
After the end of this project I will do some benchmark tests for many of the components like
the SSD's, GPU's, RAM, Watercooling components (temperatures etc).
Here are some teaser pictures, hope you enjoyed this little trip I will be back with the final shots!
Thanks for your support my friends again!

Here I am guys for the shots you all been waiting for!
I would like to thank my friend Michael for his last minute support, I needed some dyes to change the cpu loop color and he was more than willing to help me! I choose him as he is the best in this domain and I blindly trust his products!! Thanks buddy!!

So in a random order, here is my latest creation. I would like to say sorry for my lack of space, necessary for photo shooting, I tried to do my best with my little camera and my little space.
You will see shadows etc but I hope you will appreciate my modding work and efforts!
I will try to take some night shots and if I manage to take some good I will post them later on.
I also added new stickers as I went in a local printer house and redid them with silver vinyl.
Enjoy!

Ok guys here we go with the bench saga!
Here you will see all the components overclocked and not and how they perform!
At first I am going to begin with the Corsair F240 SSD's! (http://www.corsair.com/products/ssd_force/default.aspx)
First of all the CrystalDiskMark:
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/benchies/1.png
And after overclocking the processor and also adding more programs etc:
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/benchies/1a.png
Here is the ATTO benchmark:
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/benchies/Capture.png
The performance of these SSD's is absolutely out of this world!!! Imagine 4 of these in RAID0!
It will be nice if you could also post some benchmarks with your setup so we can make a little
comparison test! Thanks in advance guys!!
Also thanks to Corsair for sponsoring the SSD's.

Now lets continue the bench saga with the Western Digital 500 GB Sata6 hard drives in Raid0.
To be honest I expected way more from this setup but I believe the Marvell drivers need to be
"fixed" and improved further in order to make Raid0 arrays work as they have to.
Here are some benchies:

Now the overall overclocking experience.
I was first able to get a 4.2 Ghz out of the i7 930 but then I compromised with a stable
4 Ghz with the memory running at 1600 Mhz 7-8-7 timing as it was impossible to clock them higher and make them stable. Also after a LOT of reading I found out that is better to have them clocked lower with tighter timings.
At 1.325 Vcore full load the 360 EK radiator was able to handle the temperatures really well keeping the CPU below 66 Degrees Celsius. (27 Celsius ambient)
Also remember that in the loop is the mosfets and the NB-SB which they get really hot after an overclocking session so I believe the results are really good.

http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/benchies/5.png
Here are some benchies with the Corsair Dominator GT (CMT6GX3M3A2000C8)
Memory copy @ 1600 7-8-7
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/benchies/memorycopy7-8-7.png
Memory latency @ 1600 7-8-7
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/benchies/memorylatency7-8-7.png
Memory write @ 1600 7-8-7

Memory read @ 1600 7-8-7
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/benchies/memoryread7-8-7.png
And a Super-PI session!

More to follow in a while!

10-16-2010, 03:55 AM
Now some DX11 benchmarks with Heaven Benchmark v2.1.
First here is a result with everything @ stock speeds.
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/benchies/g1.png
Here is the result with only CPU overclocked @ 4Ghz
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/benchies/g2.png
Then it was time to overclock the GPUs. Those MSI GTX 470's (http://eu.msi.com/index.php?func=proddesc&maincat_no=130&cat2_no=717&prod_no=2039)
are awesome overclockers! The overclocking results you are going to see here have been done in 10 minutes with MSI Afterburner V.1.6.1 as it was the only one who could unlock the voltage. Those cards could overclock way much higher but I found proper to stay there at the moment and see how they perform.
LIGHTING fast is all I can say!!
And the 2X EK's 240 radiators did a hell of a job keeping temperatures below 60 Degrees Celsius @ full load which if you consider how hot these cards can get even without overclock then this is more than fantastic!
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/benchies/msi.png
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/benchies/msi2.png
And a final benchmark with all overclocked! You can see the stock VS overclocked thats a HUGE difference!!!
http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/chinoangel/Project%20Future%20Schlock/benchies/g3.png
I am really impressed with the performance of MSI cards and how easy they can OC with no hassle at all and also in combination with EK blocks and rads, everything is just awesome!
Hope you enjoyed this little bench saga guys!! ;)
Thanks to ALL the sponsors again who help us make this little journeys a reality! Peace!
