View Full Version : Help saying a Prayer for my Dad

my dad recently was taken to the hospital as he was falling down and couldn't walk properly. so we thought it was a mild stroke but it turns out it's a brain tumour. it seems it's got some kind of cancer in it but a biopsy is being performed this thursday to confirm. it can't be taken out either so it's down to radiation and chemotherapy.

my mom wrote this prayer and would like as many people to read it when they can. i would really appreciate it as well if you could read it once over or more.

Father, I ask You to bless my friends, relatives and those for whom I care deeply, who are reading this right now.. Show them a new revelation of your love and Power. Holy Spirit, I ask You to minister to their spirit at this very moment. Where there is pain, give them your peace and mercy. Where there is self-doubt, release a renewed confidence through your grace. Where there is need, I ask you to fulfill their needs. Bless their homes, families, their goings and their comings. In Jesus ' Precious name.

Amen.

Thanks for taking your time to read this thread, and prayer. hopefully my dad will be able to overcome the tumour and get better.

we got the results back and its not the best news. i don't know what cancer but it's aggressive so chemotherapy and radiation are the last hope. the doctors never gave any expectancy so my mom was thinking months to a few years.

on a funner side of things his head being all bandaged up he looks like toad from super mario lol. and we had to roll him up our driveway in a computer chair.

so i guess one day at a time.

Already said a prayer, but I pray he's not just strong in this time but tough too-there's a difference, and it's what keeps us sick people going.

the Chemo and radiation start in 2 weeks for 5 weeks each once a day. the chemo pills he will be taking are $2000 (28 pills - 4 a day) a week.... thank god we live in Canada and we have full coverage it seems.

Sorry to hear about your dad. Good thoughts and positive energy his way...

Not to sound like an advertisement, but have him (or someone in your family) check out the Cyberknife (www.accuray.com). It is a radio surgery device targeted specifically at inoperable tumors. It is non invasive and can treat brain tumors.

i will pass it on to my parents, though it seems they are not close enough to where we are living.

he is starting radiation and chemo tomorrow so what we are hoping is the tumour stops growing as it's not likely to shrink or go away.

They have CyberKnife centers all over the world, with tons of them in the US. I would never have known about these devices except I designed and build the computer rack and the computers that go in it.

Any more updates? How is your dad doing so far? How is his mental state?
