Walked in with 100.

40 on the table, walked away with 175 in 10 minutes.

went to the roulette table. Lost 60.

Went back to the original table, put 50 in, was up to 140, lost 3 big hands in a row.

Left with $141.

Moral of the story. Never let your friend who now owes you $30 because he had to borrow money to pressure you into keep playing when you say "DONE!" 3 times.

Well, at least you came out on top. The main thing is to not get caught up in it, and at the very least not to let yourself lose more than you brought. ;) OOC, was that $30 that you loaned your friend from your initial pot (making your final $171)?

Nope, it was calculated in, I actually loaned him 20 out of my 100 and 10 that was in my car.

That happens almost exactly like what happened to you every time I go. lol

Done! Okay one more.. Done! Okay I'm on a roll... ****, I lost too much. Better just play it all. Woo! Got it all back! Now let's see if I can make money... alright, made some money! Done! What? Fine, here, just don't lose it all.

It's ridiculous how similar Casino experiences are when talking to people. lol

I've actually never gambled in a casino. I even spent a long weekend in Vegas (Defcon 17) and never did any gambling. I can honestly say I really just don't have any desire to. The odds are just bad. I'd rather make money honestly. It's more dependable and imo more satisfying anyways. :D

It's really not that fun, either. Aside from maybe Blackjack and Poker. But even then, it's all electronic now which to me makes it not as fun to play. Usually when I go I end up watching my friends mostly. or hanging out at the bar listening to some local band or another. It gets old relatively fast.

I know someone that won a couple thousand dollars once, though. It was like $3000, I think. Now that would be cool!

Edit: But then again, she's lost at least that much just playing over the years. lol

I'm about even with money in vs money out. I usually come out with at least some sort of profit ranging from 15-200 bucks but there's been a couple times where I've lost 100 and left.

I was playing war at a 5 dollar table. The odds are 50/50 so you can win fast and lose just as fast.

Hahaha, yup. Give me my dremel, soldering iron, and laptop and I'm happy. :D

Heck yeah! It's always good to release your creative side. I'm currently working on a dirt and stone pathway and staircase with a cement block retaining wall AND a stone fire pit in my back yard. I've got most of it done, it's sort of an in between rough and final draft at the moment. But man, cutting away that bit of hillside along the side of my house for the staircase and pathway was a BIOTCH. Especially since I only had one of those stupid long and skinny shovels. haha /off topic

A friend of mine put in 20$ and won $400 on a VLT at a bar once. He bought a round for us, and then had his rent paid for the next month. :)
Meanwhile I lost $40.

 Where is the amazing place that $400 provides enough for several drinks and a month's rent? That wouldn't even be enough for half of my monthly rent...and I have a tiny apartment.

I just don't gamble real money full stop. You are going to loose the house allways win. I do play a bit of freeroll poker though.

Ya really, in San Diego rents at the very least $1000+ for a terrible place in a terrible neighborhood with terrible parking. For a run down 2 bedroom apartment you're looking at around $1200.

...I hate SD...
