Pretty awesome idea, I think. I love blending technologies like that. :D

This gives me an idea actually...steam-powered coilgun..

Ah drats, I was hoping for something a bit more realistic. Like, you know, something you could take camping with you, something that you can just throw in with the rest of your stuff. Good idea for a product though, once refined and finished a bit.
I'll make the ultimate survival charger. One part solar panel, one part wind powered, one part crank (friction) powered and another part steam powered! AND IT'LL BE BUILT INTO YOUR PHONE. ON FIRE.
Wow, that kind of escalated quickly didn't it? lol
Actually, building a wind/steam/handcrank generator wouldn't be that difficult. It actually sounds like a neat idea, maybe one of my next projects will be a steam engine..
BTW, handcrank generator don't work on friction, they generally work on the same principle as most other generators; namely, spinning a wire coil through a magnetic field. The reason you feel resistance is because of the load on the generator (whatever you're powering).

Er. I knew that.. I was.. just.. testing you. Yeah, I was just testing you. Congrats! You passed! lol
To further the improvement and efficiency of the all in one invention... I'll also be incorporating urine batteries! Just take a leak on it and voila, recharged!

or because there's a lot of friction elsewhere, not associated with the power generation.
lol. True, good point. :P
