Does anyone else do this? Just curious. I told my friends and they were like, uh... are you retarded? haha
Eh, I don't know. Maybe I am. Tastes good to me though! Salty and sweet. Mmm.

I don't care to much for watermelon. But my parents always ate it with salt so I thought that was just the way you ate it anyway.

Perfectly normal. Pulls the juices out, just like with a good steak.
Sometimes. It gives you an interesting flavor play, kinda like asiago bagels with cream cheese.

Italian Asiago Bread from the local bakery is AMAZING. I buy it all the time. Probably why I never have enough money by the end of the month. ha
I've never had asiago bagles before though, I'll have to look around for them.

Nah man, you gotta do it lightly and not all over the place. Just a bit here and there to give you a nice little surprise of flavor. It's the whole salty and sweet thing, such as chocolate covered pretzels.
I usually don't put salt on mine though. Just every now and again for something a bit different. LOVE watermelon. Grab a concave plate, slice off an entire steak of it and dig in! Then when you get to an end, you can eat it like it's its own bowl! lol

My favorite salad:
1 whole watermelon, hollowed, cubed, seeds removed, excess juice drained
1 package Feta cheese, crumbled (salty stuff.. mmm)
5-6 leaves fresh mint, finely sliced
Mix, chill, serve (in hollow watermelon).

I used to think the Noah's Bagels that Costco sells were asiago, but I found out they're actually parmesan. Love both kinds though, especially with half a tub of cream cheese slathered over the top. 8)

I use salt on many odd things. Watermelon, apples (granny smith), beer, lemons...
Luke I am going to try that watermelon salad. Sounds good!

Never tried watermelon that way, and I still don't think I'd ever care to do so.

Not lately... But yes. Not one of my favorites though. Same with Tripe...
Here's a good one;
Anyone had Rocky Mountain Oysters?
Rocky Mountain Oysters?
Ooooh.. I see wat you did thar.. :P
No, I've never had them...and they are one of the few things that I truly have absolutely no desire to try.

I'm a ranch boy. I grew up on tongue and Rocky Mountain Oysters (along with nearly every other cut of beef, pork, chicken, venison and fish). And yes, I have harvested both as well.
Edit: x88x--they taste like chicken.

At no point in time should "Here's a good one" be followed by "Anyone had Rocky Mountain Oysters?".
Nobody should even look up what they are. People don't eat them...it's a myth. Go back to your mundane but mentally stable lives people...nothing to see here!

Good, I'll have tons of chicken then! :D Tripe is amazing though as long as it's not overcooked like some places do.

Are you saying I am a figment of your imagination?
Edit: According to Wikipedia, they are also referred to as Montana Tendergroins. I can honestly say I have never heard that term before, and I am from Montana.

Wait...you're not? ..crap!

Not at all. I'm just saying you promote a myth to satisfy your sadistic agenda...whatever that could possibly be...:D
Or, more likely, I just can't wrap my mind around something like that being a food source, or more correctly, a delicacy, and my brain automatically dismisses it as being fantasy. I really wish it were.

I think it's an age-old conspiracy among the world's cooks/chefs. They're really just trying to see how strange stuff they can makes us eat. :P

For years whenever I thought about eating Sushi, I would imagine a board room full of Japanese business men slapping their knees and through tears and laughter exclaiming: "OMG they actually eat it!" Then I tried various kinds of sushi and love most of them.

(talking about Haggis)
"It's for my dad actually.. I think most Scottish cuisine is based on a dare."
