Having major problems with my new watercooling

Well, I actually came to my senses and ordered a water cooling kit. I ordered the arctic liquid cooler from kingwin. Model # AWC-1. http://www.kingwin.com/pdut_detail.asp?LineID=&CateID=31&ID=187

My problem is that my processor is running even hotter than it was when I had my regular heatsink installed. We're talking like running at 158 * F!!

That's really bad. I did read all of the instructions. The only thing that I can think of is.

1. There is air in the system.
2. Being that I spilled the antifreeze solution that came with the water cooling kit, I used regular antifreeze, and mixed it with water. I measured the way that it tells you to.

3. I have gotten a defective system.....

I forgot to mention that I was only able to successfully boot up my computer once. All other times it just shuts off when it's booting up. ( That's a sign that my processor is over heating ) But now when I get to the black screen that says windows (http://softdarek.republika.pl) xp with the loading bar, it just stays on there forever... I can't even actually get into windows now. I'm getting really frustrated because it seems everytime that I do something on my computer to either help it or make it look better, I always somehow manage screwing up, or either I get a malfunctioned device...

Hey Marc.. I understand your frustration. It's no fun when your mods make things worse, but that's the learning curve...
Sounds to me like you have air stuck in your waterblock. Bleeding these things can be a pian in the a$$. Browse through the forums and get some advice on bleeding. I have personally found it easier to bleed air with the system out of your computer, just my opnion. Also make sure the cpu block is properly mounted to the cpu, ditch the "thermal tape" your kit came with and use some good paste, a little goes a long way.

I've been reading some reviews on the internet.. I've heard that this watercooling system is not that great. What is the best way to apply the thermal paste stuff?? Also, what is the normal temperature that your processor should run when it's under a water cooling system? Lastly, was it bad to use regular antifreeze that i found laying around? What would be the correct mixture for the water and anti freeze? Oh, I forgot to mention one thing. My computer uses that stupid screwless stuff so I really can't bleed the dang thing then just put it back in without having to disconnect the two tubes from the back. Any ideas? Yes, I used that thermal paste that came with it. I did buy some thermal paste a long time ago. ( The good kind ) but all I have to do is find it :?

The idea behind thermal paste is to "fill in" the areas where the block and cpu don't make good contact, machine lines etc. I use a credit card to smooth the paste evenly on the block and cpu. If it's done right, you really should'nt see much left.
As for bleeding, if you can't bleed it out of your case, try turning the blocks upside down while you have them out checking your thermal paste, with the pump running, of course. Another trick is to pinch off the lines in various spots to change line pressure. You may also try running the system with the fill cap off, if you can, as sometimes this helps purge air.
Antifreeze is ok, just check it often.

I had the same problem. Once the water starts circulating, you need to refill it because the water from the reservoir is now distributed thoughout the system. Even with the system running, your water level should be full, this helps a ton.
