I went out to go through some rounds for the first time in 7-8 years. Here's 2 targets from 25y with an antique savage .22 with dovetail irons. Not too shabby I think.

Top is standing, bottom is crouched. (8" targets)

I was too actually. Crouched helped with the major swaying but I still had a lot of left-right. It would have been a lot better if it had a set of truglows. I can guarantee that bullseye would have been dead if my marlin wasn't out of commission on that trip. Funny, I managed to clip a corner of the bull from twice the distance with a slug without looking down the sight! :oP I found the stock I had on my shotgun isn't the greatest for looking down unless you want a chewed up cheek. :P

Which is probably why this one has new, raised sights fitted (unfortunately, they're $100+ for that kit which I'm not going to spend on a no-choke, non rifled 18" shotgun lol). I only have an almost flush truglow front sight atm so you really have to get your face down there.

A picitinny scope mount is probably next though depending if I can find a red dot that's small enough to let the stock fold up.

Or maybe these: http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/11619-1.html :D

nice, that style of stock always reminds me of Jurassic park :)

here is my target from the today at the range. it was my first time firing a real gun, but not first time shooting.

it was from a glock 17 9mm - 20 shots. at about 10 - 15 yards or so.

EDIT:

and here is what will happen to a Zombie at the same distance when i have a .44 Magnum :)

it had a good kick to it, but not as bad as i was thinking it would be.

is it just me or does putting sights on a shotgun not seem to make much sense? :?

Well contrary to popular belief .. you still need to aim a shotgun.

If you have ever shot skeet, trap, or sporting clays.. or hell quail, duck, or pheasant, you will definitely need sites! :D

Depending on the choke, the "shot" doesn't always just spread out.

And nice Shooting Buzz and Spawn!!

Center Mass!!

Sights help if you're running slugs too. lol

With a rifled barrel, the accutip rounds are good for 200meters.

You're usually shooting something at 20-40m away, and depite having a big circle of pellets at that range, you want the target as close as possible to the centre of that circle of pellets
