Was just watching the local news and caught the end of a segment on the iPhone. Seems that Apple is going to pull AT&T exclusivity and expand to other carriers. Something about AT&T now only holding 12% of the US Cell Market. I can not find a story anywhere on the net that cites an apple rep saying its over though.

I have 4 reactions to that, in this order:
1) About damn time.
2) Better for consumers. More choice is always good.
3) That'll be great for AT&T because they'll lose some customers but the rest of their customers will have a better experience and probably be more likely to recommend AT&T to their friends.
4) Anything past those three, I really can't be bothered to care. :P

I heard Verizon as well. One $$$ service to another but still... I'd take verion over att any day! But then... I'd take the HTC Incredible over the iphone any day as well. If the iphone came with Android or windows mobile AND had a removable battery and expandable memory, I'd be all over it.

If the iphone came with Android or windows mobile AND had a removable battery and expandable memory and wasn't an apple product, I'd be all over it.

Fixed that for you.

I'm waiting for Rick to chime in, since he's got some actual iphone experience.

It's been my experience so far that there's nothing wrong with AT&T and the iPhone. Either separate or together. My area isn't saturated with them like SF or NYC, so 3G is pretty good around here. I think it'll be interesting to see what happens to say the least. I just wish I could have upgraded this year to the iPhone 4. Oh well, I'll upgrade next year.

I had the first gen iphone (after the proce dropped) and I agree, att was great. service was awesome, support was awesome. and TBH I loved the phone. I loved playing games or surfing the web when I was bored and not near a computer. I hated that it didn't use flash, but was hoping it'd be in a future upgrade. I stepped on my phone by accident and broke it, an dwas going to get a 3G, but when I heard they were NEVER going to do flash I said F**K YOU APPLE lol

I'm not a fan of the iPhone, but it's still nice to hear that they're expanding to other carriers. It's gives iPhone users more options and lets other carriers offer it to their customers.
