ok ur off to a pretty good start, cuz all the components u picked out are really nice! for the mobo asus in my eyes in hands down the best and most user friendly and provides really good support. however, DFIs are really nice and as far as overclocking abilities, im not sure they can be beat. for u i would recommend the asus A8N-sli deluxe for a few reasons one it has a very good upgrade path two its bios is stable and easily updated through asus, three it runs sli and as a kicker its really quiet cuz it runs a fanless chipset. for the cpu i grant u a couple paths if u wanna get the best value gaming card go with the athlon 64 3700+ its a great card at a steal of a price (dont buy the 3800+ if ur spending that money just go dual or save the money and go 3700+), if u also do a lot of multi tasking besides gaming and dont mind dishing out more cash go with the x2 4200+ although keep in mind its overclocking abilities will be a little less than that of the 3700+. as for the psu its a great one for sli awesome price and one of my favorites (cant top an antec for the price to performance ratio)!

Well i might not get a SLI motherboard since i don't plan on getting 2 video cards, any good suggestions? and i currently have a 430watt PSU, is that good enough with a non-sli motherboard? and someone said evga video cards needs at least 450w??

What do you mean if i want to get the best value gaming card i should go with the 3700+?

the psu depends on the model hit me up with some links and ill let u know. as for the mobo go to newegg stick with asus gigabyte msi or abit prob asus though and just used the advanced search to pick out what u specifically need ill let u know if its good or not. as for the evega cards it completely depends on what model u get most the newer and higher end ones need power but wattage isnt everything remember that dual rail 12+v is important for some users and brand is important. ya the 3700+ is the best gaming deal out there period. so post that and ill get back with ya.

for the motherboard i'm thinking of getting
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813136152
but
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813131530
and
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813131569
i'm more interested in the DFI though, more stable and better for overclocking.

for the Video Card, i will probably get evga 6600 or better

and for the PSU, the one i have right now is 430Watt http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813131569
friend of mine told me that the 430watt thermaltake i have right now will not be able to hold a 3700+ CPU(3700+ is the one im getting) and a evga video card.

I posted a PSU earlier (same thread) but it is a SLI. Since i don't plan on getting a SLI - Motherboard anymore, i don't what PSU i should get that is not too pricey.

the link for the psu is for an asus mobo, but it should work if its a decent quality psu. as for the mobo they all have 8 channel audio onboard i believe which is a really nice feature. as for which one the more expensive will overclock better and probly run at a more stable state but theyre all quality boards. so just pick by preference cuz they all pass in my book. if ur looking for a psu to get however i would recommend upgrading to an antec smart power series, cuz theyre all really good quality, some of them provide modular cabling, they run increadibly stable and most if not all run dual +12v at a really affordable price

I was going to get the DFI motherboard but then someone told me that it does not support creative sound card. so i will probably get the asus, deciding on which one i should get the premium or the deluxe. deluxe has a mobo fan and the premium has the heatsink, not sure which one is better.

depends on whether u want a quiet pc or not, it wont make an increadible difference but it might be noticable if the rest of ur pc is already silent. as for the sound ive never noticed a whole lot of difference between onboard 8channel and a midrange sound card but i dunno its preference. hope these replies are helping.

On the mobo issue, if you are not planning on going with SLI, I would rule out the ASUS A8N32-SLI Deluxe. It's big plus is that it runs 2 GPU's at x16 versus the x8 each of most other mobo's. There are other really nice features on the board, but I am certain you could get them on another board and save yourself a few $$. If you would like the option of going SLI later that is a consideration though of course.

On a side note... Woo Hoo, I am no longer fresh paint :D

^^^ this is true and i wasnt really thinking about that when i replied. go with an nforce ultra of 4 board thats not sli if ur not gonna run dual gpus it will save u some money. look into some of the DFIs they make nice nforce 4 ultra based boards.

Yea i'm looking at DFI motherboards like you said, but if it doesn't support creative sound cards then im not too sure about getting one. BUT it might not be true.

check DFI's website a see if theres an FAQ about it, or google it to see if its true
