we had a slow day at work, so i started brainstorming. basically i want to have a two-layer box case made out of plexiglass or lexan. the bottom level would hold the drives and PSU, while the top would be just the motherboard. i have a Zalman NVidia heat sink, and i think it would be cool to have the fan sticking up out of the case by itself, but i think my ram and 8800GT will limit how much of the heat sink can protrude through the top.

i havent figured out the details, but im thinking about putting 2 fans on the bottom level and 1 fan on the top level, and making the top/lid 2 parts to slide around the heat sink.

the only thing im worried about is the fact that ive never played with plexi or lexan, so im not sure how to go about cutting it.

i'll try to work up some sketches tomorrow to get an idea of what it'll have to look like.

edit: dang, looks like someone beat me to it already (but theirs only has 3 drive ports and my heat sink wouldnt fit.)
