So, while I'm waiting for EVGA to get me a replacement for my dead GTX260, I got frustrated with my old 8600GTS and decided to use the lovely 'Best Buy Rental Service', as I like to call it, and picked up a GTX465 that I'll be using while I wait. This got me thinking. EVGA is almost definitely not going to send me back a Core 196 card, which means my Tieton block will be useless, and at that point I might as well sell them and upgrade. So, with that in mind, I thought I'd throw this out there and see if there's anyone interested. Keep in mind, this is assuming that EVGA sends me a GTX260 Core 216. If they send me something else, I might do things differently.
So, would there be anyone interested in:
Danger Den Tieton full-coverage block for GTX260/280 (NOT COMPATIBLE WITH 55nm, aka, Core 216 GTX260 cards and EVGA 896-P3-1260-AR). Copper back plate and single-slot bracket included.
$110 (Retails for $165 (http://www.dangerden.com/store/dd-tieton-for-gtx280-260.html) with both additions)
EVGA Core 216 GTX260
$150 (Retails for around $215-225 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=100007709+600007318+600007576&QksAutoSuggestion=&ShowDeactivatedMark=False&Configurator=&IsNodeId=1&Subcategory=48&description=&Ntk=&CFG=&SpeTabStoreType=&srchInDesc=))
This would be either a new card or a refurbished card directly from the manufacturer. Like I said earlier, IDK what I'm actually gonna get back from them, but this is what I'm expecting.
Shipping, of course, not included.
Note:
I didn't put this in the trading post because I'm not actually offering these for sale yet, just seeing if anyone would be interested.
EDIT:
If anyone's interested, if I do this I'll be upgrading to an ATI card. I just got a nVidia for this so I wouldn't have to install any drivers.
