That's from 2008, so anyone who knows how to assemble a computer in under 3 hours knows about this. The filter was recently shelved until a review on RC is done. Everyone keeps on telling the government it won't achieve what they want and the best way for the government to deal with pedos is put more funding into the Federal Police.

Sad thing is, I like the National Broadband Network a lot, I hate the mandatory filter that the party wants to bring in... but the other party wants to get rid of the NBN but also hates the filter... so currently I'm having to vote for a party who seems to want to censor everything...

I remember seeing a lot about this several months ago on Ars. IIRC, most of the ISPs basically told the gov't to take a hike and they wanted nothing to do with their censorship crap...I hadn't heard of the NBN before; maybe that was their answer to that?
