I've been looking to get back into RC for awhile just couldn't afford it. Well last week a friendr got this in a package deal with some other cars he wanted for racing and knew I was looking for something. Long story short he made me too good of a deal not to take it home. It'll do 30-35 mph in the grass, faster on gravel or pavement but it gets real squirrely.

They're a blast but also a pain in the ass. Nitro cleaner gets expensive. lol

Nitro? So, not gas powered? I've got about 4 remote controlled cars/trucks. My favorite is a 4WD monster truck that goes anywhere. The main problem is that it's from Germany and I have to use a world adapter which for some reason slows down the recharge time.....

Anyway, Nice toy!

Yeah nitro is a bit spendy and tempermental, but much better run time and performance. Although the new LiPo batteries and brushless motors come close, but the LiPo batteries can be dangerous. I'd prefer 2 cycle gas but got this on the cheap from a friend and he's got a bunch of spare parts to help keep it running so.... The last RC car I had was a nitro on road which was fast as heck but didn't have anywhere to really run it, this I can run anywhere.

As opposed to nitro? :P

If you run LiPo batteries down too far or don't keep tabs on the charger they can explode in rather spectacular fahion. There's some videos of it on youtube. Nitro is actually pretty stable, just kind of messy from the castor oil in it.

yea lipo's are VERY dangerous if left unattended. and by comparison the nitromethane/ethyl alcohol mix used as the fuel (~$30/gallon) is fairly stable. It needs very high compression to run. The motor I had in my old t-maxx was .16 c/i, ran 33,000 rpm and made 1.2hp :D

yes it's methyl alcohol with typically a 10%-40% (depending on the application) nitromethane mix and castor oil for lubrication. smells AWESOME form a distance...get a puff too close and your eyes will burn and water for a day or two lol :alien:

This has a a tuned 7 port .21 rated at 2.5 hp at 30,000 running a 25% castor oil mix. I'd love to have a gasoline motor for it but to match that kind of power it would be too big for the truck. Oh well nobody ever said toy where cheap.
