Title says it all. List your top three ugliest production cars. Must be stock otherwise I have a feeling it'd be a thread full of rice-mobiles with their 3 foot long wings and all that jazz. http://img843.imageshack.us/img843/4989/uglycarpictures56w.jpg

Here it goes...

VW Thing. (Although to be fair, they make some SEXY sand toys)
http://img826.imageshack.us/img826/1300/newvwthing3.jpg
Hyundai Tiburon. (1996–2001) The waves everywhere is just ridiculous. The 2002's aren't too shabby though... I'd drive one.

Saleen. These things look like a 6 year old got ahold of a butter knife on their clay model and start cutting gills everywhere. I don't care if they're functional. There are more capable cars without them. Hideously overdone.

As for others more capable and hideously overdone. Well as far as I know, the S7 is the only production car that can create enough down force to equal the weight of the car. So at 160 MPH the car could actually drive on an inverted plane. This was accomplished by using all of those vents and scoops.

To be honest, I like the look of that Saleen

Buzz, you're dead to me only because of the S7 comment.:D
OvRiDe, you took the words right out of my mouth. The S7 is the most incredible production car ever. I don't care if another car that costs 4 times as much can go 5 mph faster with 2-4 more cylinders...

How about the Dodge Rampage instead?
Here's the '83 model that was produced:
http://img189.imageshack.us/img189/8747/dodgerampageorig.jpg
And here's the '06 concept they were thinking of bringing back:

Sorry.. I have a lot of love for those things. Yes, they were technically hemaphrodites, but they were also small, light, and cheap. With the same base engine as a Daytona, you could drop in a turbocharged mill, and push 300hp at the wheels pretty easy.. and run 11 second quarters all day with wheelspin all the way down the track.

Gumpert also says their Apollo Sport can do that, and I seem to remember some other cat that was supposed to be able to do that... Problem is, nobody's ever tested any of them, so it's all just blowing hot air. :P

As for the ugliest, I think the Mercedes Bionic Fish concept is a pretty good candidate.

I picture the designer sitting at a drawing board, out of ideas. His 4 year old daughter runs up with a crayon drawing of a car and a stick-family. A light bulb lights over his head as he looks at it...

It's a good thing others posted uglier cars because I would have had to second my own nomination of the Rampage. :D

I've seen an attempt at a Dodge Rampage look-a-like. It was an s10 with a camero front end. It was hilarious!!!

For this reason, we would never be friends.... I had an entire summer I spent trying to talk my parents into letting me buy my neighbors thing... it was the model that you could float the ohio river in if you wanted to.

AMC Gremlin:

Pontiac Aztek:
http://www.go4x4.eu/home/images/Flop/5.jpg

And I'll second Slave's Fiat post. I saw them all over the place when I was in Italy earlier this month, and they seriously looked like they were designed by a committee....of 3 year olds.

Oh yeah...and remember those wonderful Volvo 240's? Might have been very safe cars. But certainly not gonna win any beauty contests:

Pontiac Aztek wins, hands down.

LOL - I'm only nominating on looks, and even then it's just my opinion. I almost put the Pagani Zonda on here... :whistler:

and yeah, that Aztek. I've seen them out on the road, and my thoughts go like this;
"Who the @$@$@$@@ designed such an incredibly @$@$#$$@!@@1 - looking car????"

"Who the heck BOUGHT such a !#!@#!@@$@$ looking car???????"

Yeah, I figured that'd be the general reaction. My feeling about it is more along the lines of, if I had that kind of money I'd much rather buy a lamborghini diablo or gallardo and a Factory 5 GTM. :D

Fiat Multipla is easily the ugliest production car in the world. It looks like two different engineers designed the top and the bottom, and only collaborated around the water tower without ever looking at each others designs.

It's not going to make me popular but I think this is the second ugliest car.

There are very few companies that design nice cars these days.

Lol, the Mclaren F1 is definitely a very...unusual design. Personally I like it though. :P It does take a bit of getting used to though.

The worst thing about the multipla though, is that they're really nice cars to drive. They're nippy, very comfortable, 6 seats and by Fiat standards, pretty reliable too - just a damned shame about the outer shell!!!

By far the ugliest vehicle on the planet.

Edit: Was joking on this one, as it is my vehicle. Though many have exclaimed the above, lol.

nasty 70s mustang. in fact, anything from like ~72 to about 94 is hideous.
