greetings all. alright, i have no idea where to post this so i decided this is the best place. my friend has a Inspiron 600m laptop with a problem. she said that a friend told her of a keystroke to hit while the machine itself is booting (not the OS). apparently what it does is delete everything but the OS on the harddrive. does anybody know of what keystroke she's talking about? thanks a ton...

no, i was actually hoping someone here knew what it is as she needs to do it but forgot what it was. ugh... this is why i just build computers on my own and not deal with pre-built things :D

im not aware of a key press for that, but i know that there is a key press to wipe the BIOS, but you will need to google it

yea the BIOS i know of. oh well, her boyfriend (my roommate) claims to have done it before, that's where she heard it from. oh well, thanks anyways guys...

IIRC.. Ctrl+F11 does that... it's for restoring dells that have original partitioning scheme to their shipping configuration...
