Heheh, so, I recently bought a 40lb box of random electronic stuff off a guy on eBay. Most of it looks like stuff from old computers. ..and I mean really old computers. Like, a couple of them are labeled "punch driver". So, in this thread I'll post pictures of some of them...let's see how many we can identify. :P

First one up. ..something with a coax connection. I got 8 of these.
Sorry for the blurry pics...my camera doesn't do so well with close focal points. :(

I'd guess 'garbage'. How much did you pay for the box?

My guess is some kind of loading device for an antenna. The shielded compartments make me think antenna.

I saw enough copper there to make it worth your while...

Garbage is in the eye of the beholder. :P The components by themselves are worth more than what I spent on the box. It was $20 +~$30 shipping. Here's a couple pictures of all the stuff that came in the box:

Heck, even just the random stuff in the little box (bunch of random capacitors and diodes) is probably worth about what I paid for everything.

Once I have a larger work area (and one that's not in my living room) I'm gonna make a large-scale desoldering pot (think big, shallow pool of solder with high-temp acrylic or steel posts to hold PCBs) that will make stripping boards like this of components much quicker and easier.
