Woot!
Sorry, just excited. Been having a difficult time finding a software development internship and had all but given up. I had put my resume up on the school's job link webpage, and for months no one responded, nor were there jobs in my area listed (not surprising as there were only 12 positions for the entire state listed this summer where last year there were hundreds just in MetroWest MA).
I applied back to Best Buy, and for whatever reason decided to check my school email right afterward. A company saw my resume and wanted me to come in for an interview. Even though I explained my skillset wasn't a direct match to what they were looking for, he really wanted me to come in.
Had the interview. Had to wait a few weeks past what he originally stated, as something had come up for them. Almost felt like giving up on it because of the lack of communication, then today I get the confirmation email!
They aren't a software company, but the internship is in their IT/Software Development group that builds/maintains the company's internal infrastructure, etc. Another plus is they have never laid off an employee in the 30 years they've been in business.
Cliffs: Given up hope on software job / internship. Company wanted me for interview. Got internship!!! I'm excited!
