My current mobo (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813188013) took a dive and I'm looking to find a cheap replacement.

It keeps getting a C1 error on the diag card. I looked it up and the fix is to reset the BIOS. Well, that worked a couple of times but once the computer was turned off the problem would come right back and it wouldn't start up until I pulled the cmos battery. I read up on it and I guess it means the mobo is dead. The cmos trick doesn't work now so the computer wont start up at all now. Just multiple long beeps, stuck at C1. :(

I was thinking about picking up this little guy: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130279

It used to be my gaming rig but it's long since been obsolete so my mom's been using it for web browsing and such.

I'm thinking I'll part it out on ebay and build her a small rig or maybe just pick up a 14 or 15" laptop. I can pick up an emachines d620 (same model I worked on earlier) for 120 bucks or so.

I just think a full tower is a bit of an overkill for what it's being used for.

not sure TBH. I loved it, it was super stable and worked perfectly, and had lots of OC potential. I only swapped it out for the P5E Deluxe because the Abit didn't OC well with my Q6600. I had my D930 to 3.75GHz on air stable, while I could only get the Q6600 to ~2.7ish stable. The one thing I miss about the Abit was its on-board e-sata.

I did the volt mod on the back of the board as well (solder a wire between two points to prevent the voltage loss from the tiny traces on the board)

If nobody wants that AW9D, LMK and pricing. I have a good CPU (if it'll take a 6550...)

it ran flawlessly with my Q6600 as long as I didn't OC it. It's got the latest BIOS in it too

I think I'll stick with the MSI Micro ATX board. If it were my computer I'd jump on the AW9D but since it wont ever be used for gaming again, I'm gunna have to pass.
