If you could get the current version (2.3, I think) then it would be pretty good. Those tablets all come with 1.6, which is utter crap.

I think you mean 1.5, not 1.6.

i tried doing this on my amd machine and apparently its a 50/50 shot for it to work.

I don't think its as much the OS as the hardware. I updated the Eken to the 1.9 firmware and its doing much better with the touch screen and the on screen keyboard. Most everything is smooth except video playback. Which has to be something to do with the video driver they are using or the video hardware. I had a Dell Axim PDA that was only running 400Mhz and it could play back an AVI smooth as silk.. this is a 600Mhz and it chops terribly, even if I encode it down lower, which leads me to believe its the hardware and not the OS.

It’s a good hack but i don’t find a point doing that. Maybe its useful for some guys :santa:
