So my tablet came! ...and went... my mom answered the door to get the mail and denied the package addressed to Buzz Killington.

-.-

I called the local post office and had to explain the situation (kind of embarrassing) and he said he'd hold the package and I can pick it up tomorrow at the earliest. :(

My wife finds it kind of amusing when stuff arrives here addressed to "Slaveofconvention"

Hahahaha, nice. :P That's why whenever I send stuff to people and they don't want to give me their real name (actually, like you Buzz :P ), I just use something that sounds like it could be a real name to the deliverer, but the addressee will know what it means. ...of course that doesn't help if someone who's not in on it denies receipt of the package.

I don't see why you don't just use your real name. Using a false name is considered mail fraud IIRC.

That's why I always go by the name of Barack Obama

I don't make transactions without name, address, phone number. If it seemed sketchy at least that way you could look it up and make sure the info is legit.

That way if anything goes wrong you actually have information to take to authorities / etc, and not just, "Ya I've got this dudes screenname, and this funky address that google maps says doesn't exist".

Ya, I dunno why. I've never had any problems before but I'll use my real name from here on out. I didn't know it was considered fraud. I didn't see any difference between that and "current resident."

Well, it would be a hard thing to prove fraud since that name is your alias. Yeah the USPS is a little more touchy since that little Anthrax episode, but I doubt they would go after you for using your screen name. The worst part is, now you have to explain that screen name to mom...
