Hey Guys! I know its been a long time since I've been really on here. I check it almost every day I just haven't had the time. I've been promoted to customer service manager at my job and I work close to forty hours a week, and any other time I'm hanging out with my girlfriend. I start college on Monday and I'm super pumped! I know this is a lot of useless information but I need you guys to help me!
Starting Monday I will be starting a program to help me get healthier! Its called couch to 5k! Yes, Philly D is doing the same thing but lately I've been thinking about it. I have my girl friend and my mother backing me but I diffidently need you guys to tell me what you think of this work out regiment.
I recently picked up a pair of Brooks Running shoes! They are incredibly comfy to run/walk it and I have a YMCA pass that I need to start putting to good use!
I plan on putting up a vlog of my self explaining whats happening with my work out plan. My hardships with it and what I'm trying to do to make my over all health better. I'm going to start my project tonight by taking my weight and creating a video telling my true weight, my plan for this next week and my goal for the week after.
First Week Plan: Start a calorie journal! My friends have done this and figured out where they can cut useless calories from their diet. No, I will not go on a diet. I enjoy foods but I will cut my portions down and eat more vegies and less chips and fatty foods. I will be keeping track of my weight loss in my journal. I will be researching good work outs to go along with my aerobic work outs.
I know its not your guys jobs to keep track that's for sure. I just need a community to help me. This is not my first time trying to lose weight but this is the first time I've gone to any one to help me stay motivated!
Thank You,
Andrew Vahey

Good luck with it! Eating right and exercising can be tough, but with a plan in place and people supporting you, it'll be a lot easier to stick to it.

First off, congratulations on the decision, I think that's a big step.
I should know, I've taken it many times. Here's hoping you continue. I think the idea of recording progress and making immediate goals is a good one.

I was doing a three month weight loss thing on here as well as a few other guys and . . . uh yeah. I think we all lost motivation. It can be hard to do and it's almost impossible to quit one lifestyle cold turkey for another. Good luck with this! I'll come complaining if you don't update!

yeah.. i forgot to keep up on mine too, i have dropped 35 thus far.. still have 30 to go... Ill Race YA!
Good luck. I keep meaning to start exercising regularly, but I keep falling into the 'late to bed, late to rise, run out the door and barely get to work in time' rut... Not so much for weight loss (though tbh there is a bit that needs to go now) as I've always been blessed with a crazy metabolism that keeps me pretty thin no matter what I eat, but more just to get in shape..I didn't really realize how bad it was getting until I went on a family camping trip the other week. ..turns out not exercising..at all..has quite the adverse effect on your stamina. :P

I used to love going camping. I haven't been able to go the past couple of years. It does take being in good shape to do a lot of camping. I miss it.

Training to run 3 miles is definitely doable in 2 months. I did it before I left for boot camp. Honestly, if you want some motivation go to your local Marine Corps recruiting office and PT with them. You don't have to even go into the office...
When I was going there were 20 or so people running with 3-5 Marines and when I fell behind they'd run with me trying to motivate me to push. Sometimes they'd yell but I think that may have been because I was a pooley. They didn't yell at the ones only there to train with their friends but they still tried to push them. We also ran to a cadence sometimes which helps teach you breathing and pacing not to mention get you amped.
Good luck man, if I can lose 90lbs eating healthier and exercising, you can lose as much as you want.

To help motivate you I'll write a contract you can sign so that i will get all your money and possessions if you fail! And good luck, It'll definitely be hard in the beginning but it should become easier and easier. Also, try to take your bike or walk to where you need to go, taking the car 1km is just a shame, unless it's raining A LOT, hailing or there is 20cm+ snow.

Couple things to keep in mind;
If it was easy, then everybody would do it (and America wouldn't have the, uh, problem it has () if ya catch my drift....
Also, nothing happens overnight. It takes a long time to see really noticeable results, especially in your own eyes.
You can do it![/ Rob Schneider]

I get to do it again if my knee decides to heal completely. It's been 7 months since I was injured and I played some basketball a couple of weeks ago and the knee pain sparked back up. I guess I'm gunna have to make a call to the VA office after all. :/

Even replacement doesn't equal new.
