I have a dead ipod is there anyway I can use the hard drive as a pc hard drive?

im pretty sure you could, my friend doesnt even use his as a music player, just an external hd.

you can, you might have to modify some pins on the harddrive but i think its just an ide laptop harddrive. if it works as a usb drive you might even want to stick linux on it and boot that way.

if its a laptop harddrive then yes you can. You just need an adapter (http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/searchtools/item-Details.asp?EdpNo=244974&sku=C184-17705).


Alhough I think you will need to format it befor you can use it, so your music will be gone.

Im not sure ill ahve a look at it tomarrow. Ill try to take pictures with my cell phone if the the darn pictures would send to my email.
