That actually sounds really cool. I like the different game modes that they mentioned..very interesting. I don't want to say anything too soon, but I'm wondering if this might be Treyarch finally making a good game. :P

I believe the point thing is the new way to unlock everything from perks to weapons and weapon mods. So yea, I assume its PC too.

something im crossing my fingers for. Standardized ammo among weapons. example. if i use use a scar with a red dot site and kill someone with a silenced scar i should be able to pick up the ammo left behind without having scavenger on.

yea that always annoyed me too. Scavenger is nice, but shouldn't be needed IMHO. The nice thing with scavenger though is you pick up a pack and it give you ANYTHING you've got, ammo, grenades, rockets, claymores, etc

well damn if I'm going to have to pay more money to buy points to unlock stuff count me out. that's a messed up way of doing things. I don't mind paying extra for things like map packs, but having to pay just to advance in the game is retarded. I hope to god it's not like that (except in the wager matches shown, if so then I'll just never play wager matches)

Maybe Im understanding it wrong but I thought you get points from either Wager matches or at the end of regular matches. According to these other details (see bold below) you can spend the points on top of regular weapon progression to unlock stuff early. Hopefully they will release more info come loser to the release date.

This is stolen from another forum, but apparently here are some more details on Black Ops:

Server Stuff
- Will use dedicated servers (but not like we think of them for COD)
- Ranked servers limited to 18 players max $18 /month
- Unranked servers limited to 24 players max $24 /month
- NO ACCESS to server side files
- Will be able to control certain options such as hardcore vs. softcore, map rotation, server messages, etc.
- Gameservers.com are the ONLY approved server host (means we cannot run a BO server through NFO or Art of War, etc......ever)
- Must be signed into Steam to play
- Will use VAC anti-cheat
- Admin utility will be available
- Will have spectate mode
- Will have user console available (~) to change certain client-side variables
- Will have map editor available after release for the creation of custom maps for use in unranked servers

Gameplay
- Allows you to play in a training mode with "bots"
- New type of "dolphin dive" where you can make a running aerial dive into a prone position (imagine being able to dive through a window away from a firefight) Could be cool, could suck
- Create a class has 3 "bumpers". First allows you to pick your character class and customization and takes up Perk 1.
- Killstreaks are more interactive, like the R/C car with C4 on it, a controllable tomahawk missile, etc. (there is also a gatling gun as a killstreak called "Death Machine" ) SAM turret takes out airstrikes.
- Every time you play you earn "COD Points" (CP) and use them to unlock any weapon/perk at any level. So you can earn the points to unlock dead silence at level 3. No waiting to reach a certain level to get perks or weapons.
- You can buy challenges and if you complete them you get a crazy amount of COD Points.
- New gametype called "Wager" which allows you to "bet" a certain amount of your points against other players in a collective pool. The top 3 players split the winnings by order of how they finish.
- New "Wager" mode called "One in the Chamber" Each player has a pistol and one bullet. Kill an enemy, you get another bullet. Miss and you have to knife them. You get 3 lives. (actually sounds fun)
- New "Wager" mode called "Sticks and Stones" You get a crossbow, a knife and a tomahawk. Kill them with the tomahawk and you bankrupt them and take all their COD Points.
- New "Wager" mode called "Gun Game" You start with a knife and progress up thru the different weapons
- New "Wager" mode called "Sharp Shooter" Each player is given a single random weapon. All players are given the same weapon. Weapon used changes after a certain amount of time. Forces players to get familiar with different weapons.
- Weapons are customizable with different camos or logos (clan tags). Sights are also customizable. Red dot doesn't have to be red or just a dot.
- Has in-game emblem editor. Gain COD Points to use them and place them on your weapons.
- Has in-game battle recorder. Records up to 10 sequences and can be edited. (not sure what you do with them once you have them. Don't know if they can be downloaded or posted on a website for instance) Will be able to use first or third person or 3D world view
- Will have zombie mode
- There be will NO BETA
- Headshots and score from killstreaks also add to team score as well as individual player
- Multiple zoom lengths for snipers. Many CoD4 mods had this one.
- Your character gets a personalized motion sensor and a signal Jammer.
- /record will be active to allow admins to spec players and record demo footage as evidence

I just hope it isn't too expensive if you have to pay real $$ to get game credit. If you assume an average sale price of $50, with 20M+ copies of COD6 sold, there's $1BN in sales - now I know the developers don't get all of that, but they do get a pretty hefty chunk. Here's hoping greed doesn't result in these extras being priced out of most peoples reasonable spending limits....

EDIT: Sales are WELL over the $1BN - I just read that they hit that 10 digit sum back in January of this year so it'll have long since passed that by now...
