Quick question.

I am needing a place I can organize workloads and make it visible to a lot of people who are not tech savvy and who are the types to throw a memo away with out reading it. The solution I have came up with is a BIG ASS white board.

Has anyone had experience with the 4' x 8' sheets you can get from Lowes or Home Depot?

If that stuff is crap, what would be a good price on a large pre-made one say 3' x 3'?

Yup, I had a math teacher back in high school who put a few in her classroom...almost indistinguishable from the commercial stuff. Once I get a house I'm gonna do a whole wall of it in my workshop. :D

I might have to pick 2 sheets of it up this week and hang it on the wall in our office.

I assume you're talking about the tempered hardboard with the white vinyl pressed onto one side? If that's the case I have worked with both the smooth version and the one with the tile pattern pressed into it. Both very easy to work with and durable. I built a shower enclosure out of the tile-pattern stuff and had no problems out of it in the four years we owned that house.

I have a Massive white board in my room like 8'x12' I got it at a salvation army store for $5, but that's not going to help you. There are a few different types of white boards, but sometimes white acrylic works the best.

They also have a paint that you can buy and turn ANY surface into a white or chalkboard. I used some when we moved in here in the kids' playroom. Good stuff.

I've seen the blackboard paint but not the whiteboard..how expensive is it and how hard is it to get a smooth finish?

Well, it's not cheap. I think it was $20 for a pint. That said, it goes a very long way. I put 3 coats on that wall, and still have some left over. As long as the surface is smooth, the paint will roll on smooth.
