And it's actually a good one! :D
Samsung F4 2TB for only $100 with this promo code for the next 2 days (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822152245&nm_mc=EMC-IGNEFL091410&cm_mmc=EMC-IGNEFL091410-_-EMC-091410-Index-_-InternalHardDrives-_-22152245-L012A) (ends sometime on the 15th). EMCYXZR53
Incidentally, apparently I missed when this happened, but with the F4 line, it looks like Samsung has upped the ante yet again with all new 667GB platters (500GB was the industry max before)! I'll be interested to see how this new line compares with WD's 500GB platter Black drives (2TB model is the only one I know for sure has 500GB platters), especially if they use the same platters in 7200RPM drives...with 64MB (or higher) cache..
EDIT:
And here's something interesting...according to Newegg's listing:
667GB Formatted Capacity Per Disk (emphasis mine)
If that's true.... ..maybe Samsung is the first HDD manufacturer to actually manufacture and advertise their drives' binary capacity? ..well, I can hope anyways. :D
