So the tool-free chuck on my old corded hammer drill has been getting more and more awkward to use - it's catching really badly and I've been kinda sorta looking for a new drill anyway.....

Lookie what I got...

Looks like a serious piece of kit lol - heavy as hell - 1250W of rotational goodness.

It's a SDS unit but it comes with a standard chuck which slots into the SDS chuck so all my current bits are still usable... I found much amusement in the store looking at the catalogue when it said "Recommended for: Light Demolition" :D

LOL

That is a beast. That's close to 2hp...to drive screws and make holes...in anything...
...nice!

To be honest, it's way bigger and heavier than I expected. I just ordered a new chuck for the old drill lol...

The new drill came with a pair of chisels - it can apparently be used as a mini-jackhammer too.... It just so happens that I have one job in the garden to do which I can now do - lump of concrete that needs to be trimmed down to allow me to stop the dog digging under the fence. Once that lump is out of the way, I can drop a breezeblock into the hole which SHOULD slow him down. I'm not entirely sure there's ANYTHING that'll completely stop the big lunatic :p

I hear reinforced concrete works wonders. ;)

The next time I am out at the shop I will have to take a photo of that exact hammer drill rebranded as a craftsman. Had it for a few years and its only had 1/2" masonry bits in it. Damn thing will punch a hole through fiber and granite reinforced concrete like its butter.

I have a 6 week old blue pit that has been using concrete curbs as chew toys if you want to bother him.
