Just had a root canal done an hour and a half ago.
Even though all my other teeth are fine, this one had "internal resorption". Apparently they don't know what causes it, but the nerves/pulp starts to eat the tooth from the inside out.
It actually wasn't that bad. My head feels a bit odd from the vibrations and holding my jaw open I assume. And, a good chunk of the side of my face and tongue is numb. But there wasn't any pain, a little feeling of pressure here and there. Have to go back next week as it was too inflamed to put the final filler in I guess.
So I get to eat on the other side of my mouth and eat only soft foods for the next week, yay! (He recommended smoothies. They make me sick, so today I opted for a milkshake, haha).
Anyone else have any experiences with root canals, good or bad?
EDIT: Damn it! I just stabbed myself in the side of the face/lip with the straw as I was looking at the screen. Didn't realize I had done it until I wasn't tasting any shake-y goodness even though I was sucking, haha.
